3 Possible Destinations For This Out Going Liverpool Star

Kolo Toure was not offered a new contract and Liverpool have released the Ivorian. Toure joined Liverpool in 2013 from Manchester City and since then, Toure has become a fan favourite at Liverpool. Toure made 71 appearances for Liverpool in 3 years, scoring just one goal in a 6-0 away win at Aston Villa last season. With Joel Matip’s arrival, Dejan Lovren’s renaissance and Mammadou Sakho’s future almost clear, Toure was surplus to Jurgen Klopp’s demand. The Ivorian has denied all the possibilities of getting a retirement and has stated that he wants to continue his playing career, so where does Kolo Toure go now? Here are 3 clubs that might sign Kolo Toure:

The French club is eyeing a move for Kolo Toure after he was released by Liverpool. Monaco are looking to blend experience with their relatively youthful squad though they also have former Chelsea star, 38-year-old William Carvalho. The club seems quite keen on signing Kolo Toure to their defense at the 35-year-old has a lot of experience and with Carvalho; he can form a stable partnership in Monaco’s defense. Kolo Toure can end his career on a good note at Monaco and he should join the club if they make an offer.

Middlesbrough have secured a promotion to the Premier League after finishing second in the England’s second division league. Middlesbrough were linked with Martin Skrtel, but Skrtel is not going to sign for Middlesbrough. The Boros will need some experience at their defense and who better than Kolo Toure. In Kolo Toure, they will get a player with ample experience and a very good leader and signing him would be a huge boost for the club. In Middlesbrough, Toure will not only get proper game time, but also a chance to stay in the Premier League and play some competitive football.

Brendan Rodgers succeeded Ronny Delia to become Celtic’s manager and reports suggest that Kolo Toure is on the club’s radar. A chance of working under former manager Rodgers is a good prospect for Toure. Rodgers has a big job at his hands as he looks to improve his side’s domestic as well as European status. Kolo Toure is a good option for the club as he will bring experience with the club. And also having worked with Rodgers before, Toure will not have much trouble adjusting at Celtic. Also he will get proper game time and if an offer is made, Toure should join.

At 35, Kolo Toure is still capable of playing for 2-3 more seasons and Liverpool fans would wish that Toure ends his career on a good note. All the best Kolo Toure.
