3 Quality free agents Premier League clubs could look to sign today including former Man City star

3 free agents Premier League clubs could look to sign on the Transfer Deadline Day

For the first time in history, the Premier League transfer window will shut before the start of the season. This summer, the transfer window slams shut today, meaning the English clubs have until the end of the day to complete any last-minute business.

The Premier League clubs can neither loan players nor sign free agents once the deadline passes. Teams like Liverpool and Arsenal would be all smiles, having completed their transfer business early, but for the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and many more, that is not the case.

But for those clubs that are functioning on a tight budget in the Premier League, especially Newcastle United, they can certainly look at signing the free agents.

That being said, here are three free agents the Premier League clubs could look to sign on transfer deadline day.

Hatem Ben Arfa

Hatem Ben Arfa, a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, is already a recognised figure in the Premier League, having earlier plied his trade for Newcastle United.

Indeed, the France international failed to make a single appearance for PSG throughout the 2017-18 campaign, with new Arsenal manager Unai Emery preferring the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria.

However, the 31-year-old attacker is now a free agent and the Premier League clubs should have a look at Ben Arfa. Newcastle should consider bringing Ben Arfa back to St.James’ Park, with Rafael Benitez still in need of attacking options.

Yaya Toure

Yaya Toure is a free agent after leaving Premier League champions Manchester City at the end of the season after eight years at the Etihad Stadium.

Yaya Toure

With the start of the top-flight campaign just a couple of days away, it is surprising to see the big Ivorian still without a club. Ideally, Toure should be a no-brainer for every Premier League club and probably half the Premier League.

Bakary Sako

Bakary Sako has become a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Crystal Palace. Sako made a very little impact last season at Selhurst Park, as an ankle injury restricted his opportunities.

But the Malian attacker is still a technically good player who could liven up any mid-table team in Europe. The Premier League clubs looking out for attacking options should certainly consider moving for Sako, who would be a quality addition if he manages to stay fit.
