3 Reasons Why This Inform Attacker Can Take Tottenham All The Way To The Title

son

The only team in the Premier League this season that is still to face defeat, Tottenham Hotspur, look like they will launch yet another title charge after missing out in the last month of the previous season. Mauricio Pochettino will know that his team is not yet the finished article but the way the summer recruits for the side have gelled into the system will give the manager plenty of hope. England international Harry Kane is out for a considerable amount of time after picking up an injury recently and it looked like the Spurs might find it hard to produce another consistent goal scorer till he returns. But the search didn’t last long as the South Korean international Son Heung-Min provided them with the extra push in the last two victories in the league.

The 24-year old joined the club at the start of the previous season but was not able to produce the kind of performances that the manager wanted him in his debut campaign. He was on the verge of sealing a move away from the team but Pochettino could not find a suitable buyer and decided to give him some time. Son has now scored as many goals as he did in the entire campaign last time around and is looking like a player who has taken a step in the summer.

Here are three reasons why he can push Tottenham to a title:

His confidence:

His quality was never in question but having started the season high on confidence, Son might just turn out to be the man that will take the Spurs side one step further. Till Kane is injured, Son and Janssen will be taking the goal scoring duties for the side while Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela will try to help from behind. This is a strong lineup that can beat the best squads in the league and when Kane returns, it will only get stronger. Getting enough game time in the next month, Son’s confidence will be soaring high when Kane is back in action and he can help the England international ease back into the game thus helping his side put in a consistent show.

His style of play:

The 24-year old was one of the first purchases from the Spurs’ boss at the start of the previous season and it is no surprise that he is finally bearing fruit. An energetic and hard-working player, the South Korean international fits right into Pochettino’s style at the Lane. He is quick, strong and smart and can be the man that can lead the line for Pochettino’s high-intensity game. He does not give up even on lost causes and is a player not many defenders would want to play against. Son is someone Pochettino will find hard to drop if he is consistent and if he can keep up his form, he can be a dangerous player for Spurs.

Dynamism in attack:

Pochettino squad is one of the strongest in the league this season with plenty of options available for the manager for each and every position. But Son is one player Pochettino can play in more than one positions. He is a player who can cover for his teammates in the final third and will excel at every position he plays in his current frame of mind. He adds with him, his own set of skills and threats to the squad and provides Pochettino with plenty of options in attack that will allow him to get the better of different sides in the league. Surely Son is turning out to be the missing piece of the puzzle for Pochettino that was in the box all this time.
