3 Top signings that could propel Southampton to a top-10 finish next season including Man City star

Southampton managed to escape relegation by a cat’s whisker this season and next season will prove to be an immensely important period for the club.

The Saints have not endured the best of times in the recently concluded campaign and they are in dire need of bringing in some quality players to boost their forces this summer.

With clubs like Burnley, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Everton moving higher up the table, Southampton must do everything they can to ensure they are not left behind.

With that in mind, the upcoming summer transfer window will prove to be a crucial transition phase for the Saints.

Next season, their priority must be to secure a higher finish and possibly even break into the top-10. However, they cannot rely on their current squad alone to do that and here are 3 players Southampton must sign to boost their forces ahead of the new Premier League season.

Joe Hart

It is unsure as to whether or not Hart will sign permanently with West Ham and as things stand, his future with Manchester City doesn’t looks all that bright.

Joe Hart

Thus, it would be great if Southampton manage to sign him. For a side that conceded a whopping 54 goals in the English top-flight last season, a player like Hart will prove to be resourceful, given his experience and skills.

He might be on the wrong side of 30 but his displays in goal are razor-sharp as ever. Thus, the Saints could benefit by signing Hart this summer.

Marlos

The likes of Manolo Gabbiadini and Charlie Austin have been frustratingly underwhelming in front of goal and Southampton need some quality attacking threat to bolster their attacking unit.

Marlos

To that end, a move for Marlos makes sense. The lethal winger is currently a part of Shakhtar Donetsk and is an undiscovered gem of sorts.

Despite appearing just 21 times across competitions for the Ukrainian giants last season, he still managed to score 9 goals and provide 2 assists. Hence, he certainly seems like an option worth considering.

Ben Gibson

Ever since Virgil van Dijk left to join Liverpool, Southampton have faced a significant lack of quality at the back.

Ben Gibson

The Middlesbrough centre-back, who has received rave reviews for his performances in recent times, does seem like a splendid option for the club.

His presence would also help rectify the frequency at which goals have been leaked and the Saints must actively pursue a deal for the promising centre-back.
