4 Goals In 4 Cup Games: Why Liverpool Should Not Sell This Deadly Goal Poacher

Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge celebrates scoring his side's first goal

Most of the times, club owners and fans regret selling their stars more than signing new guys, and even when they’re not completely happy, sometimes it’s better to have a little patience and try to figure things out before making a precipitate move that could bite them in the rear sooner than later, and Manchester United are the perfect example of that, aren’t they?

One side that could be regretting letting one of their biggest names go is Liverpool FC, as the Merseyside team is allegedly considering to transfer their great goal scorer Daniel Sturridge in this winter transfer window or at the end of the season, and that’s definitely something they shouldn’t do, at least we think so.

So why don’t we take a look at some reasons as to why the Reds should try and keep the England striker at least for the time being?

Even if Daniel’s relationship with Jurgen Klopp isn’t quite the best, the German boss has been very emphatic about his confidence in the striker and his goal scoring abilities and talent, and he’s given him the chance to prove himself several times despite all the talk that suggested that Klopp was going to send him to the bench for most of the season, and you know this guy doesn’t mix his personal affairs with his job like other bosses do.

Besides, even if Liverpool has a lot of depth in the offensive side of the ball, they do not really have a goal poacher like Sturridge. Of course, they do have Ings and Origi, but the finishing ability that the former Chelsea man possess is just undeniable. Furthermore, the former Burnley player hasn’t made a single appearance with the first team so far this season, so letting their best choice in the box go won’t be a smart decision.

Sturridge hasn’t been at his best this year and has struggled to adjust to Klopp’s system at times, but given his mobility and speed, he could really make an impact when he starts to get things going. On top of that, he has a proven rapport with his team mates, establishing a great relationship with Phillippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana.

The England forward has scored 4 goals in as many games for Liverpool in this season’s League Cup, so you know he hasn’t lost his touch just yet, and at only 27 years old, it’ll be a huge mistake to let this kind of talent walk away even despite his injury proneness.

On top of that, you know Sturridge won’t settle for a smaller team just to get some playing time, and you just can’t let your rivals get this guy if you’re trying to make a title run at the Premier League, and given Daniel’s talent, you can be totally sure that he’ll have at least 5 suitors at the very same time he’s made available by Liverpool.

Liverpool is playing at an outstanding level and when things are going your way, you don’t want to mess with your chemistry, so both the team and Sturridge should just try to be patient with each other if they want to earn some silverware this year.
