5 Questions For The Up Coming Premier League Weekend

As the Premier League gears up for its third weekend of action in the 2016-17 season, there will be plenty of talking points at the end of it. Here are the potential 10 questions ahead of the weekend:

Can Liverpool recover from Burnley loss?

Last weekend was extremely tough for Liverpool as they had to be on the receiving end of criticism from pundits and supporters for their inability to get past a newly promoted team despite having a whopping 81% possession. The fact that Liverpool created so few opportunities with so much of the ball raises a lot of questions ahead of their trip to face Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino’s team will be geared up to take advantage of Liverpool’s frailties at the back, but can Jurgen Klopp sort out the defensive issues in time?

Are we set for another late winner at Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea have won the opening two league matches courtesy of late winners. Despite having an Italian famed for creating an organised defence, Chelsea are yet to keep a clean sheet of the season. After conceding two against Bristol Rovers in the midweek League Cup action, can Chelsea finally get the first clean sheet of the campaign?

Can the champions get the first win of the season?

Leicester City began their title defence with an opening day defeat. Even though they recovered substantially in the game against Arsenal last weekend, Claudio Ranieri’s men are still searching for the first win. They take on a highly inconsistent Swansea at the King Power stadium. Could this be the game that finally gets Leicester City three points? Swansea are more than capable of getting a point or even a victory, but they need summer signing Fernando Llorente to be much more clinical.

While luck turnaround for newly promoted Watford?

Watford have done rather well in the opening two games of the Premier League, but Walter Mazzarri has watched his team remain unlucky when it comes to results. After a draw on opening day, the team conceded late to lose against Chelsea last weekend. They face a winless Arsenal who have shown signs of improvement. Despite the poor results, Watford are showing a lot of promise and they could cause an unlikely upset against the gunners.

How different will Man City be with Claudio Bravo?

Claudio Bravo is expected to complete his move to Manchester City in time for the game against West Ham. How will the sweeper-keeper change City’s style of play? The blues are expected to dominate possession even more and it will be a long afternoon for West Ham.
