7 goals, 9 assists, 2.4 tackles – This talented Norwich City ace is capable of setting the Premier League on fire next term

Norwich City Opinion – Stats Analysis – Emiliano Buendia, Norwich’s star man

Norwich City are having a dream of a season in the Championship, as they edge closer to the automatic promotion in the summer. The Canaries are currently leading the table and have every chance of winning England’s second-tier league.

If we look at it from the general viewpoint, there are a lot of star players who have turned up week in week out to make sure that this team stay at the summit.

While Teemu Pukki cannot stop scoring goals, the midfielders are doing a good job and defenders doing enough to concede less goals than scored.

Amidst all of that, there is one player who has had a fantastic season and his consistent performances has always made the team stronger in wide attacking areas. And that bloke is – Emiliano Buendia.

Emiliano Buendia

The Argentine U20 international arrived at Carrow Road last summer and taken over the right-wing role with aplomb. He is probably one of the best when it comes to being an ideal winger, who supports the striker and also links up well with the fullback.

Below we will statistically analyse his performance of this season and conclude why he is Norwich’s irreplaceable gem:

Stats Analysis – Emiliano Buendia

Buendia has scored seven goals and supplied nine assists in 32 league appearances, which is pretty decent for a player who operates on the right wing.

He has provided key passes at a rate of 2.2 per game, epitomising his propensity to link up attacks and be a chief supplier of quality deliveries into the box.

The 22-year-old’s dribble rate of 1.3 shows that he is not bad when it comes to facing defenders one-on-one in wide areas. He has attempted shots on an average of 1.7, meaning the Argentine is not shy of having a pop at goal whenever the opportunity arises.

Talk about linking with the full-back, Buendia not only combines well with right-back Max Aarons in attack, but also helps the latter in defence. The attacker has made tackles at a rate of 2.4, summing up his desire to put a foot in and try his best to win back possession as quickly as he can.

All in all, the summer signing has done everything a right winger must do to improve the team in wide areas. He has a contract until 2022, means if things go right, the Argentine would be fashioning his skillset in the Premier League from next season onwards.

Norwich just have to make sure that they ward off the potential interests from bigger clubs in the future, because it is natural that agents look for a better move for the player and scouts are roaming everywhere to pick out the best of the talents.
