9 goals, 2 assists – Man United should beat arch-rivals Liverpool to land this £45.2m-rated creative attacker and solve right-wing woes

Why Manchester United should beat Liverpool to sign Viktor Tsyhankov

According to a report from the Express, Liverpool are not willing to match Dynamo Kyiv’s price-tag for their winger Viktor Tsyhankov. Renowned football agent Ivan Pirozhenko has cast his doubt over whether any club will be able to match Dynamo Kiev’s hefty price-tag of £45.2m for the Ukrainian.

Viktor Tsyhankov, 21, has enjoyed a fantastic season so far with Dynamo Kiev, amassing nine goals and two assists in 18 league games. The 21-year-old’s contributions have seen Dynamo occupy the second position in the Ukrainian Premier League table, although they trail league leaders Shakhtar Donetsk by seven points.

With Liverpool unwilling to match Dynamo Kiev’s asking price for their prized asset, Manchester United must consider signing the player in the winter transfer window.

Manchester United made it nine points from three games under temporary manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils have now scored 12 goals and conceded just three whilst the gap with 5th placed Arsenal is down to three points in no time at all.

Under Solskjaer so far, the attacking players have been a treat to watch, especially Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

The likes of Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have also been able to express themselves freely in the Norwegian manager’s system, while Romelu Lukaku returned from compassionate leave and came off the bench to score United’s fourth goal against Bournemouth. Not to forget, Alexis Sanchez is yet to feature for the interim manager.

That’s an embarrassment of attacking riches for Solskjaer and with the way the Reds are playing at the moment, top four doesn’t look a distant dream. But in spite of United boasting an array of attacking talent, none of them is comfortable playing on the right wing.

Lingard and Mata have played on the right in the last three games and while they did well, they are not out-and-out wingers. Sanchez is yet to be auditioned on the right flank but we all know how effective he is on the left or from a central position. That’s when the signing of Viktor Tsyhankov would make sense for United.

Predominantly a right winger, Viktor Tsyhankov can play on the other flank or as a no.10 as well. The Ukrainian is blessed with incredible pace which helps him dribble with the ball quite effectively out in the wide areas. He is skilful, nippy, direct and has the ability to make incisive passes in the final third.

At 21, Tsyhankov, however, is still unproven at the highest level but he has shown plenty of potential in Dynamo Kiev colours. The young Ukrainian could thrive in Solskjaer’ system at United and make the right wing position his own for the next ten years, at least.
