Christiansen to make 2 changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Leeds United lineup to face Hull City

Predicted Leeds United Lineup To Face Hull City In The Championship

Leeds United will hope to get back to winning ways when they face off against relegation battlers Hull City at the KCOM Arena on Tuesday night.

The Whites are without a win in five matches across all competitions and come into the game on the back of a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Millwall last week. As a result, they have slipped down to 9th place in the EFL Championship table with 43 points, five behind the last playoff position. Manager Thomas Christiansen finds himself under pressure to deliver the results.

Team News

Leeds United will go into the game with as many as four first-team players suspended, as Samu Saiz, Eunan O’Kane, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips are all ruled out. Caleb Ekuban still remains out on the sidelines and is unlikely to be available until the second week of February, whereas Luke Ayling has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Probable Leeds United XI

Manager: Thomas Christiansen

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Felix Wiedwald (GK)

The German hasn’t looked all that convincing between the sticks but will look to bounce back from having let in four goals in the previous game.

Gaetano Berardi (RB)

With Luke Ayling out for the season, former Switzerland international Gaetano Berardi should continue to feature as the right-back for Leeds.

Pontus Jansson (CB)

The giant Swede will have to be at his best if Leeds are to avoid a similar fate to that of the previous game against Millwall.

Vurnon Anita

Matthew Pennington (CB)

With club captain Liam Cooper suspended for four games, it provides on-loan defender Matthew Pennington to cement a place for himself in the starting XI.

Laurens De Bock (LB)

At left-back, January signing Laurens De Bock should make his second appearance for his new club, against the Tigers.

Vurnon Anita (CM)

With both Eunan O’Kane and Kalvin Phillips out due to suspensions, Christiansen may have to start former Newcastle United man Vurnon Anita in the middle of the park.

Ronaldo Vieira (CM)

The young and promising Ronaldo Vieira is expected to slot in alongside Anita in central midfield at the KCOM Arena.

Kemar Roofe (RW)

The former Oxford United attacker should find himself starting on the right flank. Has been one of Leeds’ primary goal-scorers this term and will want to lead his team to a win.

Kemar Roofe

Pablo Hernandez (CAM)

In the No.10 role, Spanish midfielder Pablo Hernandez may have to take over the creative mantle in the absence of compatriot Samu Saiz.

Ezgjan Alioski (LW)

Starting on the left-hand side of the attack should be Macedonian winger Gjanni Alioski. Needs to start contributing more to his team’s attacking output.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga (ST)

The German striker should be high on confidence after his second-half double in the loss against Millwall. Will want to carry forward his form for the upcoming game.
