A Perfect Replacement For Victor Moses? Chelsea Should Go All Out For This Extremely Talented Arsenal Star

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Why Chelsea Should Replace Victor Moses With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain This Season

Antonio Conte has been a busy man since the end of the previous season as he is looking to make some smart changes to the squad, now that he has lifted the Premier League title. He has already added the likes of Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger to his ranks this summer but is not yet finished.

The Italian manager is looking to make sure that he is well stacked for the challenges that lie ahead and is desperate to make sure that he has backups for every position in the squad. One such position he is constantly looking to strengthen is the full-back area.

Italian star Marcos Alonso on the left flank and the versatile Victor Moses on the right was a winning combination for Chelsea in England but with European football beckoning, they will have to find another player who can take up the responsibilities in this role and one player they should definitely look at is Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.

Having refused to sign a contract extension at the Emirates, the English midfielder is now linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City, while Liverpool also remain interested. And here is why the ‘Ox’ is the perfect man for Chelsea.

Capable of playing as a winger and as a midfielder, Chamberlain found a new role under Arsene Wenger late last season where he was used as a right wing-back in the place of Hector Bellerin, to good effect. He made 17 appearances in that role last season, picking up 2 goals and 5 assists. In almost every game he played there, he was one of the best players for the Gunners on the pitch.

Known for his pace and accuracy in passing, the 23-year old is one of the most exciting players in England and has a huge career ahead. And with Arsene Wenger unable to provide enough game time, he is sure to look elsewhere before the start of the next season.

At Stamford Bridge, he could find a home in this new position at right wing-back where he can replace Victor Moses, another makeshift solution that Conte came up with last season. The 26-year old Nigerian showed great tactical prowess to help Chelsea to the title but they need a more dependable star for the Champions League games and Chamberlain might be the right way to go.

The Blues were looking at Real Madrid star Danilo as an option but Manchester City have won the race for the Brazilian this summer. So with previous English experience also to boast about, the Arsenal man could be the right fit for Chelsea this summer.
