Adkins to make 3 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Hull City lineup to face Sheffield United

Predicted Hull City Lineup To Face Sheffield United In EFL Championship

It is unbelievable to think that Hull may well find themselves in the 3rd tier next season. After another midweek defeat against Middlesborough, they are only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference, and if results do not go their way, they could be in 22nd place by the end of Saturday.

With that in mind, manager Nigel Adkins has to get it right against a Sheffield United side who are two points outside the playoffs with a game in hand. Hull were absolutely dominated by Sheffield United in the reverse fixture in November, and Sheffield United will be looking to add insult to the injury by completing the double over the Tigers.

Team News

Hull are without Moses Odubajo, Marcus Henriksen and Ondrej Mazuch, all of whom have various long-term injuries. Abel Hernandez played for the under 23s this week but will not be ready for a starting spot. Sebastian Larsson is back after suspension.

Probable Hull City XI

Formation 4-2-3-1

GK – Allan McGregor

The Scottish international has played every game for Hull this season and has seen a lot of goals go past him. Will look to improve.

LB – Max Clark

The 22-year-old Englishman has played a fair few games this season and should start here. His job will be to contain Sheffield United’s nippy wingers.

CB – Michael Hector

Jamaica’s former Reading defender Michael Hector will keep his place at the heart of a defence that leaks a lot of goals.

Michael Dawson

CB – Michael Dawson

The former Tottenham player knows he is in a relegation dogfight, and if there is anyone in this squad that needs to step up and be counted, it is him.

RB – Fikayo Tomori

Tomori was a part of the Under 20 World Cup winning side but that must almost feel like a dream for him as he now tries to save Hull from relegation.

CM – Sebastian Larsson

The 32-year-old Swedish midfielder will come straight back into the midfield to attempt to give it more stability. He will have to provide cover for the shaky defence.

DM – Jackson Irvine

Jackson Irvine should start in central midfield alongside Larsson, in what would be his 27th league appearance of the season.

RM – Evandro

The 31-year-old Brazilian has not played much this season but could provide some much-needed skill and guile to the Hull attack.

Kamil Grosicki

AM – Jon Toral

The former Birmingham and Brentford forward will sit just behind the striker to try and pick up the ball to make something happen.

LM – Kamil Grosicki

A leftover from the Premier League campaign, Grosicki no longer looks like the player that Marco Silva brought to the club to save Hull’s season a little over a year ago.

ST – Will Keane

Will Keane currently has 5 appearances this season and has yet to score a goal. He will hope that it changes against Sheffield United.
