The English Premier League once again has seems the emergence of some players that have stunned the entire world of Football and have led their teams to some amazing runs. On the aftermath of the PFA awards held by the English FA recently, there were huge debates regarding some players making the PFA team of the year 2016. Featuring the names like Riyad Mahrez, David De Gea, Harry Kane, we have an altered PFA Team of the year for you with a different formation and only one player replacing another in the midfield role. So here’s how the altered PFA team of the year 2016 looks like.
Only two formations would suit this top team
* 4-1-3-2
*4-4-2 ( Diamond) With advanced wingers rather than midfielders.
David De Gea is someone who cannot be missed, his performances have saved Manchester United time and time again. Manchester United’s defence in general and David De Gea, in particular, has accumulated 12 clean sheets out of the 17 at Old Trafford so it’s just the testament to the fact that he can’t be kept out of this team.
Defence sees the pairing up of Wes Morgan and Toby Alderweireld have averaged 1.3 tackles per game and over 2.5 clearances per game. Toby has been a standout performer for Tottenham Hotspur at the back. A great utility player who can attack even during the set pieces for the side!
The Midfield is where Mesut Ozil replaces Delle Alli. In 33 appearances for Arsenal this season, Ozil has created a whopping 136 chances and scored 6 goals. Ozil has a passing accuracy of 87% with an average passing length of 15 metres. Dele Alli on the other side has 10 goals in same appearances but he’s created only 55 chances. Although this cannot be considered as a drawback, I think Ozil will contribute more to this side with better players beside him than Alli.
The front region does see Vardy pairing up with Harry Kane and how can I leave them out? Their contributions have been self-explanatory.
This is the altered PFA Team of the year with a different formation than 4-4-2 with Mesut Ozil replacing Dele Alli.
