Amazing Sanchez, Poor Herrera – The best and the worst rated Manchester United stars vs Swansea

Manchester United 2-0 Swansea City: Lukaku Gets His 100th PL Goal As Red Devils Sweep Swans Away

Manchester United subjected Swansea City to a crushing 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford, in what was a highly-exciting encounter. Romelu Lukaku scored his 100th goal in the Premier League and a subsequent shot from Alexis Sanchez sealed a comfortable victory for the Red Devils, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Swansea’s hopes of surviving in the top-flight look rather slim for now but this result will solidify United’s perch at second spot.

De Gea once again made some crucial saves for the club and was his usual solid self.

Antonio Valencia – 6.5/10

Got the basics right but could not do anything extraordinary down the right.

Antonio Valencia

Chris Smalling – 7/10

Smalling put in an encouraging display at the back and was effective at extracting the best out of his partner as well.

Victor Lindelof – 7/10

Made one clumsy tackle but besides that, Lindelof’s performance was convincing enough.

Ashley Young – 7/10

Young certainly made a greater impact on the left-hand side when compared to Valencia and he was involved at both ends.

Nemanja Matic – 8.5/10

Acted as the pivot and made crucial contributions throughout the game. His positional awareness was top-notch as well and it was yet another stunning display from Matic.

After months of lacklustre displays, United fans finally got a glimpse of the Pogba they know and love. He took a few well-calculated risks in the attack and put in a balanced performance.

Juan Mata – 7/10

Injected a sense of variety to the attack and his infield runs opened a lot of opportunities for United.

This was Sanchez’s best performance in a United jersey. He was lethal and even managed to get a much-needed goal. The thunderous applause that followed after his substitution was more than enough to gauge his impact.

Jesse Lingard – 8.5/10

Another day, another Lingard part. He played the role of a playmaker with gusto and provided the assist for Sanchez’s goal.

Jesse Lingard

Romelu Lukaku – 9/10

Rashford added a dash of energy to the United attack but unfortunately, it did not yield any results.

Ander Herrera – 4/10

Herrera failed to do much and was rather ineffective.
