Arsenal And Tottenham Interest Unsettles Atletico Madrid Striker Adrian Lopez

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle it out for Spanish striker Adrian Lopez. And following interest shown by the London clubs, Atletico offered the forward a new deal but the Lopez is yet to put pen on paper.

According to Talksport, the Spaniard is beginning to realize the potential offer being made for him and is ready to leave the club. That’s causing concern in Madrid although the club is letting it be known that should either Arsenal or Spurs come calling, they’ll need to have £14.4m in readies to meet their asking price.

Lopez’s current contract runs down till 2015 with Atletico and yet the striker has stalled signing the new deal alerting the London clubs as they are ready to pounce with an offer in the January transfer window.

Lopez unsettled at Atletico Madrid

Lopez, who won the European Under-21 Championship with Spain in the summer, was one of the revelations of last season. His partnership with free scoring Radamel Falcao has been one of the lethal combinations in the league. With Falcao also being linked with a move to Madrid, Atletico Madrid are trying in all possible ways to keep hold of the pair at Estadio Vicente Calderón.
