Arsenal Give A Selection Headache, Go For Liverpool’s Defenders And Low Budget Strikers – Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 30 Preview

After six games in gameweek 29 this week the action is again back with the scheduled games, providing the Fantasy Premier League managers the chance to boost their scores. E have a host of games to be played this week, more importantly a number of games where the big teams play against the minnows, pushing the chances of the average score to be on the higher side. Manchester united playing against Reading, Liverpool facing Southampton and Chelsea fighting it out against West Ham should hand the Fantasy Premier League managers a lot of opening. The other thing that the managers must be constantly monitoring right now is the rescheduling of the matches, which will yield to a lot of double gameweeks. Some of the important factors that the Fantasy Premier League managers must keep in mind this week are as follow.

will he get the permanent role of Arsenals #1 back?
will he get the permanent role of Arsenals #1 back?

Arsenal’s goalkeeping problem

Arsenal’s problem with the goalkeeping slot remains and it was when Wenger decided to axe an under performing Szczesny from the Champion’s League match against Bayern, alarm bells rang for the managers who have opted for Szczesny, owing to his smooth run of fixture. The person taking his place may be either Mannone or Fabianski. Therefore it is best for Fantasy Premier League managers right now not to opt for any goalkeepers from Arsenal and wait for Wenger to finally decide on someone particular.

Jose Enrique or Glen Johnson

Liverpool’s impressive run of form and the fact that they have two of the most attacking minded defenders in the Premier League should prompt the Fantasy Premier League managers to opt for one among the duo for their team. But the question remains now is whom among the two defenders should they really pick for their team now that Jose Enrique has returned from injury and is making his marks. It may not be that easy a call as both the players seem to advance down the pitch and are equally capable to score some points off attacking returns. But still we would keep Jose Enrique in front of Glen John simply because of the clinical nature in his game. The assist against Tottenham last week proved his merit from the left side of the pitch and it is always a possibility of him scoring a goal or providing an assist to the strikers. Glen Johnson on the other hand, seems to take a number of shots on goal, majority of which are off target, hampering his bonus points. But then again we admit that it is really a tough call and the £0.5m price that the managers would have to pay for Johnson would really be a deciding factor.

It is the time for low budget strikers

The low budget strikers are really making a mark at this time of the season and it would not be very unwise for the Fantasy Premier League managers to opt for one of them for their team. The three strikers who can change the complexion of the game for the managers are Loic Remy, Christian Benteke and Romelu Lukaku. All three of the strikers have in fine form right now, scoring for their team helping in their win. While Benteke would cost £7.2m, Lukaku’s price is £6.5m. Remy’s price is even further down at £5.9m. Therefore along with Suarez and Van Persies, it would really help the managers to include one among the trio in their team to save some valuable money, without compromising with the scores.
