Arsenal Headache: Ozil, Cazorla & The Chilean Winger, How To Fit Them All In A Same Formation?

Arsenal have been blessed with a lot of creative talent and ensuring that all the players get the games they want is not necessarily easy. Arsenal seem to be kicking it into the right gear and that 2-0 win over Manchester City seems to have given them the lift and spark that was missing for the Gunner over the past few weeks.

With Mesut Ozil coming back to the team and Santi Cazrola in the form of his life, it might be a little hard for the Gunners to drop or rest either player and they might have to play both of them to ensure they get the best results. Fitting in such top players in one team is the job of the manager and that is what we are going to do right now.

Change in formation = Everyone is happy

Arsenal currently play with a 4-2-3-1 formation with Olivier Giroud leading the attack, while Giroud’s place is not under threat it is the wingers who play either side of Giroud that would be needing a bit of a change.

Playing with 2 wingers might not be the way to go in case they do want to play with Ozil and Cazorla; both of them are known to be better when playing down the middle or being given the freedom to move about in the final third. The likes of Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla would end up playing right behind the striker but they would be given the freedom to move about and take up whatever position they want.

It could end up with the players taking the same positions as each other but with time that can be ironed out, Ozil loves to cut in from the wing while Sanchez can pretty much do anything with the ball at his feet. Cazorla is another player who loves to cut in and dart into the box to score goals or set up a player.

The problem with this sort of a formation would obviously make the side very unbalanced and playing with almost 3 players who provide the same thing will not work. Another thing which could be done to counteract that is to play Alexis Sanchez as a striker with Giroud. Sanchez was a striker during his Udinese days and he would do pretty well in that role again but this would cut off his ability to take the ball from deep and create chances.

Sanchez would be used as a striker but it is highly unlikely that Arsene would do something like that to a player who has been incredible for Arsenal this season, Ozil might have to bear the brunt of his form and injury problems as Arsenal have a new star with Sanchez.
