The Premier League this season is easily the most competitive in recent times with the summer transfer window adding a number of star players and managers to the clubs. The Premier League clubs crossed the £1bn mark for transfers this summer and it does not come as a surprise that there are some strong squads in the league this season. The top clubs in the league are looking stronger than ever as the managers are looking to compete on all four fronts this season. But some clubs have found themselves a bit short even after spending insane amounts of money in the transfer window. Though Leicester City proved that an effective squad can win you a title even if not too deep, here are three Premier League sides with the greatest squad depth for this season.

Arsenal:

Though the manager failed to make too many signings after acquiring Granit Xhaka early, Arsenal managed to add the likes of Lucas Perez to their attack and Shkodran Mustafi to their defense. They also added a young Rob Holding to further strengthen the defense and their 5-back to back victories without the players like Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker is the perfect show of their depth. The manager, in the past, has been criticized for the lack of summer signings but this season, Wenger has managed to add the necessary personnel to his squad and is surely ready to launch the title challenge. With a strong first team, the additions to the side have now made Arsenal one of the strongest sides in the League.

Manchester City:

Pep Guardiola’s summer spending spree of more than £150m has seen Manchester city equip themselves with enough arsenal to compete on all four fronts this season. The manager spent big money on the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Leroy Sane, John Stones, Nolito and Claudio Bravo adding a number of star players to the Etihad squad that was already one of the most exciting in the league. The manager has bought himself enough back-ups for every position on the field and is all set to throw a strong challenge to the Premier League title in his first season. The manager has a number of selection problems with all his teammates fit and though it might not be easy to bench players, it is a problem that Guardiola will welcome.

Manchester United:

The Red Devils broke the transfer record this summer in a transfer window full of surprises. They spent £89m, more than anyone has ever spent on a player in the history of the game, to add Paul Pogba to their squad. But he was only a part of the spending spree from Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford. He also spent on the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly while managing to lure Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Premier League this season. Though Manchester United have not been able to win the title for a few years now, they have one of the best squads in Europe and Jose Mourinho’s additions, without the sale of too many star players has left Manchester United with a pretty strong squad (probably the strongest) this season. The manager is hoping to let go of a couple of players this January to give them enough game time which shows that amount of options Mourinho has and the depth of the squad that the club has.
