Arsenal, Manchester United Fail While Chelsea And Liverpool Go Berserk – Fantasy Premier League Game Week 18 Review

Luiz the midfielder ?

With game-week 18 now over, Fantasy Premier League managers have started to look toward the mid week league games and then the transfer season coming up in the new year. But this week was no short of action and some very important event occurred in this weekend. Chelsea’s trashing of Villa by 8 goals, Michu’s uninterrupted scoring spree, Stoke’s unfaltering defence line are some of the things that need attention. The most vital factors of this game-week are as follows.

David Luiz the midfielder:

Many had already stated the fact that playing luiz in the defence is a waste of his talent as he is much better in the aggressive mode. Benitez has hit the jackpot with his decision to play Luiz in the midfield as he scored one and looked like repeating the feat more than once. Thus at a price of £6.5m he is becoming an inevitable part of the Fantasy Premier League manager’s teams and looks certain to bring home important points to his owners. With a humble fixture for a new-found confidence ridden Chelsea side, David Luiz is gold at the moment and if you have not already taken him in your team, go bring him in.

Switch to Fletcher from Berbatov:

Berbatov has been give his fair share of chances, but seven blank game-weeks does not look good and with Fulham looking totally out of place, there is no indication of him getting back to form. So, we suggest a swapping of Berbatov with Fletcher, who is in the same price bracket as Berbatov but who has been much more effective than him. Many a times he has been in scoring position and being the sole striker of the team helps the purpose. The only negative factor for him may be his fixture which is not the best in the league. But the Fantasy Premier League managers can surely afford to pick him up in their team and keep their fingers crossed.

Chelsea, Liverpool go berserk:

Chelsea scored 8 times against a lacklustre Villa with seven different players finding the net. The most significant of the lot was Mata, Hazard and Torres. The trio can again be included in the teams of the Fantasy Premier League and with their rhythm, successfully instilled by Benitez, all of them can score any day and fetch points for their owners. Liverpool hammered Fulham by 4 goals with Suarez back on the score-sheet. Two of their Fantasy Premier League hot property, Suarez and Enrique did not disappoint their managers by scoring 8 and 9 points respectively. With a moderately easy fixture in the coming weeks, these players may be considered in the teams as they have a high probability of fetching important points.

Arsenal, City, United does not play up-to potential:

This year one of the problems that the Fantasy Premier League managers are facing is the inconsistency of the Arsenal team. For every Reading game, there is occurring a Wigan game. While they looked so convincing the previous week, in their match against Wigan, they never looked like the team to dominate and won the match from a Mikel Arteta penalty. City, though were dominant from the first minute of the game against Reading but could only score a goal in the stoppage time, courtesy Gareth Barry. United dropped points with Michu scored the equaliser after Evra gave the away side a lead with a header from Van Persie corner. Thus all these teams did not play up-to their potential and it was a tough day for the Fantasy Premier League managers with big names from these sides in their teams.
