Arsenal Players Are Must, Bale Returns, Think About Mata: Fantasy Premier League Gameweek – 18 Preview

Published

on

Wigan versus Arsenal, Manchester City against Reading and Swansea facing Manchester United are some of the matches that the Fantasy Premier League managers will be looking forward to this weekend. These matches provide the managers to pick up some important points, given they have right set of players. Santi Cazorla, who ran riot last week and Yaya Toure are among the favorites this week to feature in most of the manager’s midfield section as the suspension of Fellaini calls for an urgent reshuffling of the team’s midfield. Gareth Bale and Jose Enrique are supposed to return this weekend for their respective sides. Some of the points of focus this gameweek are as follows.

With such a dream fix Arsenal players a must

Cazorla and Michu a must have

The Gunners play Wigan this weekend, and although they have a blank gameweek 19, they are hard to miss out right now. Santi Cazorla raked up havoc the previous week and if he is even half good of what he did last week, it would be pretty essential to keep him in the squad. Cazorla is playing a pivotal role in the attacking position of the team and it is highly possible that he repeat his feat in the coming weeks. Although their defense has not shown the potential it should have under Steve Bould, still Gibbs is quite a good option, provided his attacking abilities. So if you want to make an impact in the coming weeks, do not ignore Arsenal from your scheme of things.

Gareth Bale and Jose Enrique return

Bale returns from his injury and is set to take the field against Stoke in the coming match. He has a dream fixture in the coming weeks in the form of Aston Villa, Sunderland, Reading and QPR, a fixture that almost seals his place in the squad of all serious Fantasy Premier League managers. Liverpool defender Jose Enrique also returns to action and faces Fulham, Stoke, QPR and Sunderland in back to back matches. So, he may be a good inclusion in the team, although we are skeptical about his attacking role in the team that once made him a Fantasy Premier League hot property.

Yaya toure, Mata good replacements for Fellaini- Yaya Toure, who has scored in consecutive matches, may become a good replacement for Fellaini, who has been suspended for three weeks for his on filed aggression. Toure is becoming an important part of City’s midfield and is carrying on the linkman role to perfection. Till now he has been transferred in 143,685 times, highlighting his growing importance as a Fantasy Premier League option. The other player who can be brought in as a replacement for Fellaini is Mata, who is showing some form after scoring in Chelsea’s game against Leeds midweek. Chelsea, as a team, has also bettered their position and now seems to displaying some quality football. So Mata is quite a valid replacement for Fellaini and with their other star midfielder’s support can go on to score some good points for his Fantasy Premier League owners.

Puncheon, Taarabt valuable low price options- Jason Puncheon has been the main pillar for Southampton in the midfield area this season and has been quite fluent in front of the goal. Thus he has managed to score good points for his Fantasy Premier League managers, adding another 11 points to his kitty the previous week. It is an additional factor that he is as low priced as £4.8m, making him a very vital player for the team. QPR’s Taarabt is another such player who has been instrumental in the midfield of the team and has looked most likely to score a goal every now and then. He is also very moderately priced at £5.6m and with Newcastle and West Brom as the next two opponents, he can be more than handy in the team. So if you are looking for low priced but utility midfielders, Puncheon and Taarabt can well be your man.

Five Soccer Games To Stream In April 2022

Published

on

As always, April is a crucial month for title battles in Europe’s top-five leagues and of course the Champions League glory hunters.

Let’s take a look at the five best games to watch via this month.

Manchester City vs Liverpool – Premier League, 10/04/2022

Liverpool worked their socks off to whittle down a 14-point deficit on reigning Premier League champions Man City to a single point ahead of their heavyweight clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

In his recent interview with SportBible, Guardiola admitted the Cityzens’ previous mammoth lead on the Reds was ‘fake,’ labelling Jurgen Klopp’s side as the ‘incredible opponent.’

With all to play for at the Etihad, Man City will fall back on their four-game unbeaten H2H run against the Merseyside powerhouse in Premier League action (W2, D2).

On the other hand, Liverpool will have to defy their embarrassing 12-game top-flight form in Manchester (W1, D4, L7) if they were to bolster their hopes of winning a second league title in three years.

Atletico Madrid vs Manchester City – Champions League, 13/04/2022

Kevin De Bruyne’s second-half winner fired Manchester City to a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final tie.

Diego Simeone’s side failed to attempt a single shot on goal in midweek, yet the Cityzens would be foolish to take anything for granted at the Wanda Metropolitano.

After suffering an epic heartache in last season’s all-Premier League final against Chelsea, Man City will be keen to do one better this term and win their first-ever Champions League crown.

Pep Guardiola’s men have put one foot in the semi-finals after delivering the goods at the Etihad and will back themselves to capitalise on their stellar first-leg display.

Sevilla vs Real Madrid – La Liga, 17/04/2022

Real Madrid are well on course to dethrone Atletico Madrid this season as they head into the final eight rounds of La Liga fixtures holding a 12-point lead on second-placed Barcelona.

The Blaugrana handed Los Merengues’ pursuit of a record-extending 35th La Liga crown a boost by beating Sevilla 1-0 at home last time out.

After giving the impression of being genuine title contenders for the majority of the season, Julen Lopetegui’s team have collapsed at a crucial point and are currently winless in four league matches.

Although Sevilla would hardly return to contention for the title with a win over Carlo Ancelotti’s side, they could do Barca’s faint hopes of landing the trophy a favour by ending a two-game losing H2H run at Pizjuan.

Napoli vs Roma – Serie A, 18/04/2022

It has been a while since Napoli came this close to winning the Serie A title as one point separate Victor Osimhen and co from table-toppers AC Milan.

Desperate to lift their first Scudetto since the glory days of Diego Armando Maradona, the Partenopei will enter the business end of the season with an unparalleled desire for success.

One of the teams that could throw a spanner in Luciano Spalletti’s bid to win his first Serie A trophy as a manager could be Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

The Giallorossi are in their richest vein of form of the season so far, and while Champions League qualification looks unlikely, they could return to the Europa League group stages next season.

Arsenal vs Manchester United – Premier League, 23/04/2022

Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are embroiled in a fierce battle for a fourth-place finish, with the former two set to lock horns at the Emirates Stadium later this month.

Arsenal and Man United lag three points behind the fourth-placed Spurs, although a game in hand gives the Gunners plenty to look forward to in the remainder of the season.

Much could change between now and April 23, but the upcoming showdown in the nation’s capital could prove decisive for both sides’ hopes of securing Champions League action for next season.

Mikel Arteta’s men are in better shape right now, but Ralf Rangnick boasts one of the most intimidating rosters in England’s top-flight, which could make the difference in these high-profile fixtures.

Here are the top 5 FPL assets to consider after the international break

With the second international break coming to an end, here’s a shortlist of top 5 FPL differentials who have impressed with their national teams and are likely to continue their form with the respective clubs.

Ilkay Gundogan, Machester City

Ilkay Gundogan (£5.2m) has shown his potential by scoring a brace and setting up Timo Werner to help Germany secure a 3-0 win over Estonia despite Die Mannschaft being reduced to 10-men after Emre Can received a red card in the 14th minute.

Gundogan has played all 90 minutes in the last two gameweeks and can continue his red hot form with the club as well. Manchester City will be keen to bounce back from the 0-2 defeat to Wolves and Gundogan may prove to be the differential this week. He is owned by just 1.4% of the FPL managers.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Liverpool

Wijnaldum (£5.4m) scored a brace for the Netherlands to defeat Belarus 2-1. He has the third-highest number of FPL points in the Liverpool team, behind just Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Wijnaldum has started in all the 8 gameweeks so far and has the knack of scoring against big teams. Liverpool will be facing Manchester United this weekend and Wijnaldum, who is owned by just 2.4% of FPL managers, can be another big differential this gameweek.

Michy Batshuayi, Chelsea

Batshuayi (£6.6m) continued to improve his international tally by scoring his 15th goal in 27 appearances for Belgium in their 2-0 win over Kazakhstan.

He is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League and boss Frank Lampard might give him his first Premier League start this season ahead of Tammy Abraham considering the Champions League fixture in midweek.

Batshuayi is owned by just 0.4% FPL managers and the in-form striker could bag double-figure points if named in the starting line-up.

John McGinn, Aston Villa

McGinn (£5.8m) continued his Premier League form during the international break and scored a hat-trick in Scotland’s 6-0 win over San Marino.

He has accumulated 19 points in the past three gameweeks, which include two goals. McGinn has been impressive in Aston Villa’s rise in form and is expected to get some points from their game against Brighton.

Youri Tielemans, Leicester City

Tielemans (£6.4m) scored a goal and set up another for Belgium in their 9-0 win over San Marino. Leicester City’s fixtures are quite easy for the next 9 gameweeks except for Arsenal.

Even though Tielemans, who is owned by just 4.2% of FPL managers, has given just one assist in the eight Premier Leagues appearances so far, the stats may change anytime soon.

FPL Preview gameweek 9 – Ideal Lloris replacement, GW9 Differentials and Captaincy picks including Arsenal and Tottenham stars

Published

on

FPL Tips: Ideal Lloris replacement, GW9 differentials and Captain picks

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (£5.5m) has been the 3rd most transferred-out player so far ahead of the game week 9, right after Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah.

While Pukki suffered the fate because of his 3rd consecutive blank game week, Salah was transferred out due to a knock he suffered in Liverpool’s win over Leicester City in game week 8.

However, Lloris suffered the dip in owners’ percentage due to an arm injury which has left him to an unknown return date. Here are a few shot-stoppers the owners can consider instead.

Nick Pope, Burnley

Pope (£4.7m) managed a clean sheet and one bonus point at home against Everton in game week 8. Burnley will face just one team with the FDR (Fixture Difficulty Rating) of four and above in next six games.

Pope has managed three clean sheets this season and of the next six, he will be playing three games at Turf Moor.

Rui Patricio, Wolves

Patricio (£5.1m) is at the top of all the goalkeepers so far with 38 points. Wolves have managed 3 clean sheets, including one against Manchester City in game week 8.

Wolves will face just one club with the FDR of four or above in next eight games. Patricio is owned by 10.3 per cent of owners and will be a valuable addition to your team.

Differentials of GameWeek 9

Danny Ings, Southampton

Ings (£5.9m) is owned by only 1.7 per cent of FPL managers ahead of his trip to Wolves. He has scored three goals in his six starting appearances this season.

However, two of those three goals have come in Southampton’s last clashes, accumulating a total of 16 points in those game weeks.

Anwar El Ghazi, Aston Villa

El Ghazi (£5.5m) has played a pivotal role in Villa’s improvement over the past three gameweeks. Villa have scored nine goals in that period.

The player, who is owned by just 1.3 per cent of FPL managers, scored once and supplied three assists in that run, earning 21 FPL points.

Captaincy Pick

Raheem Sterling, Manchester City

Sterling has just 14 points in his past five game weeks, as compared to 34 points in first three game weeks.

Raheem Sterling

City need to bounce back from their unexpected defeat against Wolves in game week 8 and are likely to thrash Crystal Palace. Sterling is due to justify his price and he must use this opportunity to give his owners at least double-figure points.

Heung-Min Son, Tottenham Hotspur

Son can be a risky but differential captain pick for game week 9. He is owned by just 12.2 per cent of FPL managers and very few are likely to pick him as their first-choice captain because of Spurs’ poor form.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal

Aubameyang will be the safest pick of game week 9 with an expectation of at least one goal from him, as Arsenal prepare to face newly-promoted side Sheffield United.

He has given just one blank game week (GW 8) and has scored 7 goals and provided one assist this season so far.
