Rob Holding In For Koscielny – Expected Arsenal Line-up (4-2-3-1) To Face Sutton United In The FA Cup

Expected Arsenal Line-up  To Face Sutton United

The Gunners were humiliated on their trip to the Allianz Arena in the midweek as they were beaten 5-1. Arsene Wenger’s side have also lost some ground at the top of the table and are slowly losing their grip on the season but they have a decent shot at silverware when they resume their FA Cup journey this weekend. Wenger’s side, who put 5 past Southampton in the previous round, were drawn away to Sutton United in the 5th round of the competition and the manager will hope that his side can finish the business in the first leg and not have a replay. Wenger is expected to go with a strong lineup on the night and here is the predicted lineup he might field for this game:

Arsene Wenger is facing remarkable pressure to keep his job.

Team News:

The Gunners are still without the services of Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey, both of whom are injured. Defender Laurent Koscielny is set to undergo scans on his injury which is sure to keep him out of this game while Lucas Perez is also unavailable.

Expected line-up (4-2-3-1):

David Ospina:

Though Arsenal conceded 5 goals against Bayern, it wasn’t Ospina’s fault and he made some brilliant saves in the game. Wenger wouldn’t want to damage the player’s confidence by benching him. He might start the game.

Carl Jenkinson:

The forgotten fullback for Arsenal, Jenkinson might find a place on the right side of the defense for Arsenal in this tie, giving a much-needed breather for Bellerin, after the nightmare against Bayern Munich.

Shkodran Mustafi:

With Laurent Koscielny out injured, Mustafi is the leader at the heart of the defence that Arsenal needs and is sure to start against Sutton.

Rob Holding:

The youngster has found first-team opportunities hard to come by and so he might get a chance to prove himself in this game against Sutton.

Kieran Gibbs:

Though Gibbs struggled against Bayern, Wenger should give him a chance in the backline for his side on the night.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain:

He struggled on the wings against Bayern but looked at ease when he played in central midfield in previous 3 games when Ramsey was injured. This might be another perfect game for Wenger to give the youngster a chance in the centre of the park and check if he is ready to be a central midfielder in his career.

Mohamed Elneny:

Back from the AFCON earlier in the month, Elneny should get a chance to partner the Ox in the midfield for Arsenal.

Theo Walcott:

Made a worthless appearance off the bench against Bayern but will get his chance to start on this trip to Sutton.

Alex Iwobi:

Though he was off color in Germany, Iwobi should keep his place in the starting XI, starting behind the striker.

Danny Welbeck:

This might be the perfect game for Arsene to give some game time to Danny Welbeck as the Arsenal striker looks to build full match fitness.

Olivier Giroud:

Giroud was used as a substitute against Bayern and could start against Sutton and continue his impressive goals scoring form.

Here’s how it may look:
