Arsenal Score Big, Liverpool Finding Rhythm – Fantasy Premier League GameWeek 12 Review

Gameweek 12 has been a quite high scoring game for the Fantasy Premier League managers as many of the big players have earned points for their owners. For those of you who had made Tevez the captain have struck gold for the striker has managed to score 19 points for his owners. The other fancied strikers, Van Persie, Berbatov though, did not click and scored only 2 points each. On the other hand, although Michu scored big points this weekend, we are still skeptical about his chances, given his fixture and lack of support in the front-line. Hazard was also back in the scoring sheet and with Mata playing only for 29 minutes, it only increased the problems of the Fantasy Premier League players over whom to give the preference in their team. Below are some of the important events of the Game-week 12.

Problem of plenty for City attack- In their 5-0 demolition of Villa, Tevez scored 2 himself and provided 2 assists earning 19 points, while Aguero also netted twice earning 11 points. Thus it may now seem a problem for the Fantasy Premier League managers to choose any one among them. But whoever it is, it would not be an intelligent decision to leave both of them out of the team. Tevez, with almost 40% ownership is still the highest selected player in the game and it seems like he is providing good dividend to his owners. Although he has a tough fixture ahead, his partnership with Aguero is clicking very well at the moment, making him a good investment.

Chelsea, Manchester United brace defeats- Both Chelsea and United lost their games against West Brom and Norwich respectively. This result saw Norwich goalkeeper Ruddy score 10 Fantasy Premier League points and becoming the fourth most transferred in player this week, ahead of Tevez. But this also saw big guns like Van Persie, Torres, Mata and Rafael all drop points. Van Persie was again the most captained player and thus this would not be a good thing for his owners. Norwich, though are quite becoming an important option in the defense, with the team conceding only once in the last five games. Their defender Javier Garrido was the top scorer with 11 points, which also included an assist.

Everton and Fulham also lose their games- Both Everton and Fulham drop all 3 points cheaply and make life difficult for the managers who heavily invested on Fellaini, Pienaar, Berbatov and Jelavic. to top it all Hangeland picked up a straight red card giving him a 3 match suspension and Fellaini picking up yet another yellow card to remain out of action the next week. Reading’s Le Fondre scored 2 goals though against Everton, picking up 13 points. Against Fulham, both Lambert and Cuellar scored once to earn some valuable points for their managers and it would be not a bad option at all to pick up Cuellar now, keeping in mind the tremendous fixture he has.

Liverpool are really now finding the rhythm- In their 3-0 victory against Wigan, Luis Suarez scored twice to become the highest scorer in the league, Sterling provided 2 assists and Jose Enrique scored once and provided one assist. Thus, Suarez scored 11 points, Sterling another 11 and Jose Enrique the highest with 18 points. They have now really found the missing agility in front of goals and it seems that the Liverpool players are now rewarding their Fantasy Premier League owners with some well earned points. Enrique was the one to impress most with his hunt for goals and him playing practically as a winger and not as a defender and it is not without any reason that he picked up 3 bonus points. Thus it is probably the right time for the Fantasy Premier League managers to accommodate the Liverpool players in their team right now to score some extra points.

Many players score big in Arsenal hammering of Spurs- Walcott, Podolski, Cazorla, Giroud and Bale all scored big points in the game between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur with 12, 10, 13, 6 and 7 respectively. But that is quite expected one a team thrashes another with 5-2 scoreline, most of the big players getting on the score-sheet. This would see the Fantasy Premier League managers again showing their trust in the Arsenal players after a few hiccups in the past weeks. Bale, on the other hand, seems a very decent option to have in the team and more often than not, he will provide important points.
