Arsenal opinion: Should the Gunners make a move for Eric Bailly?
While Arsenal have made it to the Europa League finals, the Gunners have a lot of issues that they need to solve. Their defense has been exceptionally leaky and that has affected their chances at a top-four place in the Premier League.
In fact, them making the final alone is a stunning achievement given the state the club is in. Their back-line needs reinforcement and adding players to do that in the summer should be at the top of the club’s shortlist. With both Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal ageing, they won’t be able to keep up with the league.
Both are at the age of 33 and will look to retire soon and it’s high time that Arsenal start planning for the future. The addition of Sokratis has really changed things but the other stars have struggled.
German international Shkrodan Mustafi hasn’t had the best season and the 27-year-old has really struggled to make a difference. Replacing him will be a tough job with the budget that the club has, but it is not impossible.
The Mirror, however, has reported that Manchester United are ready to sell one of Unai Emery’s top targets in Eric Bailly. But there is one issue with that, as the Red Devils want to recoup every cent of the £30million that they paid for the Ivory Coast star.
For Arsenal, that is something they need to take full advantage of. Eric Bailly is a class act who has struggled only because of the rot that Jose Mourinho had left on the club. But before that, the Ivory Coast star was amongst the club’s top players flourishing as a centre-back.
Injuries and various other issues have stopped him from making a bigger impact but for a club like Arsenal, he would be a great move. The definition of a ball-playing centre-back, the Ivory Coast international is a solid defensive option.
All he needs is the right manager and with time, Bailly has the ability to do great things for the Gunners.

Arsenal need reinforcements and it has to be the right players. Eric Bailly will add exactly that to an ageing Arsenal back-line and alongside Shkrodan Mustafi, the 25-year-old has the potential to do a lot of things.
