Arsenal’s summer target Sami Khedira has been occupying way too much ink on the English dailies over the past two weeks as the midfielder is yet to sign a contract extension with Real Madrid after continuous pursuits from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United over the summer.
There are fresh reports now stating that Chelsea are ready to offer Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira a pre-contract in January. With Madrid looking to sign Man United target Cruzeiro as a replacement for the German, a pre-contract would go a lot in favour of the Blues. Jose Mourinho, who brought limelight into Khedira’s career when he signed him back in 2010 for Real Madrid, could reunite with his former player at Stamford Bridge.
Although Arsenal and Madrid agreed on a £10 million deal for the midfielder, his wage demands in excess to £150,000o meant that Wenger had to withdraw his interest. But that would not be a problem when it comes to Mourinho and Chelsea.
Khedira, 27, will be able to start talking to clubs in the new year over a summer switch and that option suits Chelsea and given that he has a great relationship with Mourinho, the German International might opt to sign for the West London club ahead of the Gunners.
He was at England’s new luxury training complex at Burton and was involved in a special training session with the youngsters as a part of Nike and EA’s joint effort ‘where carefully selected young players come to work on their game in pursuit of a professional contract.’
