Arsenal are well known for their indecisiveness in the transfer market. This particular trait of the Gunners has cost them several times in the transfer window and looks like the history may be repeated.
The Gunners were reportedly interested in signing Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan in the summer, as per Gazzetta Dello Sport. However, now they may face stiff competition from Napoli. The Naples-based club is set to lose Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus and with that money earned from the sale of the player, the club is ready to go after Mauro Icardi.
According to the reports, Aurelio Di Laurentiis, the Napoli president has already begun negotiation with Inter and the player and are ready to offer Nerazzurri’s a massive £46 million to sign Icardi.
Icardi is keen to play in the Champions League and while Arsenal too can offer it, the player is expected to prefer to stay back at Italy.
