Arsenal To Spend A Sensational £100 million In The Window

Arsenal answered their critics with a stunning 3-0 away win in Turkey against Fanerbahce yesterday. But more good news awaits all the gooners out there, Wenger hinted that Arsenal will sign new players for sure.

After the game he said,

“The transfer market really starts now, a lot of activity will happen between now and 2 September. We have 12 days. A lot will happen. It starts now.”

“Quality wise we do not need, but numbers wise we are short. We lost Arteta and Diaby. We are without three international midfielders. We will try and bring one in but we are working on that. What you have to understand is that there is still a long way to go.”

With only few days left before the window shuts, Arsenal are linked with a move for Real Madrid pair Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria.

The Telegraph reported that Arsenal are hugely interested in signing Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema. But it is very unlikely that Real Madrid will sell their target man having already sold Higuain to Napoli. Benzema remains their sole forward with only youngster Alvaro Morata to look forward to it. In such a situation, unless they go out to buy Suarez or any other potential forward, it  remains unlikely that Real Madrid would want to sell Benzema.

BBC confirmed the news and they also linked Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria with a move to Emirates. This deal depends on Bale’s transfer. If Bale comes, Angel di Maria would mostly want to leave in search for first team action. Arsenal could use this opportunity to lure the player to Emirates.

Then comes an even more surprising news for the Arsenal fans, BBC journalist David Ornstein revealed that Arsenal could spend £100 million before the window closes in just 10 days time.

He tweeted,

“Arsenal working on deals for Real Madrid duo Benzema & Di Maria. Also pursuing GK & defender, could spend £100m”

He also claimed that Arsenal are planning to sign four players including a defender and a goal keeper. It looks like later stages of the window is going to be very crucial for the gunners in their hunt to end their 8 year trophy less run. Good luck Arsene!
