The next great Belgian striker might well be on his way to England, Michy Batshuayi has been one of the stars for Marseille this season and has already scored 13 goals this season in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club.
Reports have stated that Batshuayi was being scouted by Arsenal and while one London team was thinking about making a move for the young Belgian, another club has decided to get in on the action in hopes of signing the player up.
Tottenham have also joined the race for the 22-year-old and the battle will heat up for the talented individual but which club would be best suited for Michy’s growth and career prospects?
Red or White: The choice should be right
Michy Batshuayi is another top striker to come out from Ligue 1, there seems to be something about good Belgian players and Ligue 1 with the likes of Eden Hazard, Kevin Mirallas and Michy Batshuayi all playing a role in the league. He is a complete striker with all the required attributes like finishing, pace and strength.
But for every Hazard there seems to be a Divock Origi, alright the youngster still has a lot of time to develop and grow but nothing should be rushed when it comes to a player who is so young and raw. Batshuayi seems to be a pacey version of Christian Benteke and is two-footed as well, that will certainly get some tongues wagging, especially of Daniel Levy.
Tottenham and Arsenal are two absolutely great options for the Belgian striker to grow and hone in his craft. He should be willing to move to a club which can provide him with a great chance of growing and playing while he learns and becomes a better player.
Arsene Wenger could well act like a father figure to him and has often brought in youngsters from France who have done really well over the years, but that was a long time ago. Now Arsenal need someone who can chip in the goals when Olivier Giroud isn’t firing and Michy Batshuayi could well be the that guy. He is ready for the big time thanks to his performances for Marseille, but he should think about the other team in London as well.
Tottenham have been bringing out so many youngsters into their first team and the team are playing some really good football. Tottenham is also home to many Belgians like Dembele, Vertonghen and Alderweireld, which could be a great proposition for a young one who is moving to a foreign land. Pochettino also seems to be a manager who can get the best out of his young players and also helps in their development but here as well the main striker would be Harry Kane and Michy might not get the games that he requires.
It is a tough one to decide where he would want to go to, Arsenal and Tottenham both look great options with a lot of pros and cons but seeing that he needs to grow more and Pochettino is the man of the moment in the Premier League, Tottenham could well be the new home for Michy Batshuayi.
