Arsenal Transfer Roundup: Defender Deal Is Back On, Wenger Set To Beat Everton To Sign This La Liga Striker

Lucas Perez

The London club Arsenal have been facing some ups and downs in the transfer market. In recent weeks, many players have been linked with the club, yet it remains a mystery whether the manager, Arsene Wenger, will bring the reinforcement at the Emirates or not.

Now, according to the recent reports from Sky Sport, the Gunners are edging closer to sign Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez. The 27-year-old striker is also a serious target for the Merseyside club Everton, but the source has now stated that Arsenal have edged closer to sign the player, who has a release clause of around £17m.

Well, this is no secret that the Londoners are in a dire need to sign a striker and a whole lot of players were linked, including, Jamie Vardy and Alexandre Lacazette, but nothing came up for the Gunners. Lucas, on the other hand, had a stellar 2015-16 campaign, as he scored 17 goals for the side and now, a move to the Premier League is on the cards.

Further, Arsenal were desperately chasing Valencia’s defender Shkodran Mustafi, but the deal is yet to reach a conclusion. A few days back, Valencia manager Pako Ayestaran insisted that Shkodran Mustafi will remain at the club this summer, but according to Sky Sports News presenter Kaveh Solhekol, the deal is now back on and Mustafi’s agent will meet Valencia’s officials to bring the speculation back on.

“Mustafi & agent met Valencia officials yesterday. Told he can leave if adequate offer made. Suggestion Arsenal deal could be agreed at £26m.”
