Arsenal have started negotiations for Leicester City duo Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante with the Foxes. The players have been key to the Foxes’ winning the Premier League title this season and seems like Arsene Wenger has set his eyes on the duo for a move to the Emirates in the summer.
Despite the fans protest Wenger has stepped into his final year of contract at Arsenal and is going about planning for the season to come.
According to the Express, the Gunners are ready to activate Kante’s £20m release clause this summer. Leicester City have no other option than to lose the Frenchman as there is no way they can match with the Gunner’s paycheck, however the Foxes are desperate to keep Mahrez in the squad.
Mahrez has been an essential part of Foxes’ victory with 17 goals and 10 assists this season with some very vital goals at important times for the club. The Express reports that it will take the Gunners at least £40m to tempt Leicester City. Wenger is now dealing with a £60m double deal for the Leicester City players.
