Arsenal Turn To This Serie A Defender In A Desperate Attempt To Fix The Backline As Mustafi Deal Is Going Nowhere

The pressure from the fans about signing new players have begun pushing Arsenal into a corner. The Gunners need to sign a center back and a striker is a popular opinion and with Shkodran Mustafi deal going nowhere, the club is not looking for a new defender.

According to the reports, the Gunners are now looking at Marcel Tisserand from AS Monaco. The player has spent last two seasons on loan at Toulouse and Arsene Wenger wants to get him as the club has made no progress about Mustafi. Primarily a center back, Tisserand is versatile enough to operate at the left back position as well.

Per Mertesacker and Gabriel are injured. While Koscielny is set to feature against Leicester City on Saturday, Arsene Wenger wants to add depth to his defensive unit. Apart from Tisserand, Jose Gimenez, and Simon Kjaer has also been lined up as an alternative to Mustafi.
