Their top targets were Monchi and Marc Overmars, but that clearly hasn’t gone their way. While Monchi re-joined Sevilla, former Arsenal man Overmars has instead opted to stay with current side Ajax in the hope of building an empire at the Dutch club.
Paul Mitchell, on the other hand, is the polar opposite
This blend in modern-day football is very rare. Mislintat had it and the North London side made a mistake in letting him go. But they cannot make the same with Mitchell.
With his contract at RB Leipzig winding down and with both Manchester United and Chelsea also in the race, Arsenal have to push hard to get this man.
The Gunners need someone to fill that role and who better than yet another super-scout.
