Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Real Madrid In The Champions League
Tottenham Hotspur finally managed to put the Wembley hoodoo behind them as they managed to take all three points from Bournemouth in the league at the weekend. But they will face their toughest test of the season yet, when they travel to the Spanish capital to face the defending Champions Real Madrid in the group stage game of the UCL on Tuesday.
In what is the match of the day, Real will hope to take all three points and keep their winning run going but it will not be easy against a Spurs side that has won all of their last three games in all competitions. A win for Tottenham in this game would be massive as it would send out a huge statement to their rivals. So Spurs will go all out for it.
Team News
Eric Lamela, Danny Rose, and Victor Wanyama are yet to get back to training and will miss this trip to Spain. Midfielder Mousa Dembele is, however, back in training and is expected to make it to the bench, while star playmaker Dele Alli is suspended for this game. Ben Davies is expected to be back in action for this fixture and is expected to start, leaving Pochettino with no other injury issues.
Formation: 3-4-3
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
GK – Hugo Lloris
The French ace is absolutely crucial to Tottenham’s chances of winning this massive game. Anything less than 100% and Real’s world-class attackers would be there to take advantage of it.
CB – Toby Alderweireld
The Belgian defender is easily one of the best in the business but will have his task cut out against one of the best attacks in Europe.

CB – Davinson Sanchez
The youngster has settled in well at the new club but this will be a new challenge altogether. It will be a whole new experience for him and games like these are the ones that shape a youngster up.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
Completing the backline should be Vertonghen, who had a decent game as a full-back at the weekend. He will hope to keep the likes of Ronaldo and Isco away from goal.
RWB – Serge Aurier
Though Trippier has been decent, Pochettino should go with Aurier, who has more European experience from his time at PSG.
CM – Harry Winks
Though Mousa Dembele is back to fitness, Pochettino could stick with Winks, who has been exceptional in almost every game he has played this season.
CM – Eric Dier
The English midfielder will act as the shield for the backline if he starts and will have to be at his best if his side is to take anything more than a loss from this trip to Spain.

LWB – Ben Davies
The English ace is Pochettino’s first choice wing-back on the left and should start this game in his familiar position.
RW – Christian Eriksen
The Dane scored the winner at the weekend for his side and will be full of confidence going into this crunch tie. Expect him to trouble the Real Madrid back line.
LW – Heung-Min Son
The suspension of Dele Alli will be a huge loss for Spurs but Pochettino wouldn’t worry about it too much as he has the dynamic Son Heung-min available for selection.
ST – Harry Kane
The English ace is the danger man for Tottenham and though he failed to score at the weekend, he will surely make a mark on this game when presented with an opportunity.
