Bournemouth beating Crystal Palace to sign this promising Championship starlet would be a brilliant move

Bournemouth must beat Crystal Palace in the race to sign Andre Dozzell

Andre Dozzell is an English central midfielder who plays for Ipswich Town in the EFL Championship. He is a youth product of the Ipswich academy and has been at the club since 2008. It was in 2016 that he got his first-team chance at Ipswich.

A young Andre Dozzell, aged 16, came on as a substitute at half-time in a championship game against Sheffield Wednesday during the 2015/16 season. He scored the equalising goal for Ipswich on his debut and the match ended 1-1. He made just one more appearance the whole season.

Since then though, he has played 19 times for the Tractor Boys but that debut goal remains the only one that he has ever scored in the Ipswich blue. This season, he has really come to the fore and has slowly shown himself to be an important part of this team.

Ipswich sit at 24th place, right at the bottom of the Championship, trailing 23rd-placed Reading by 5 points. They have the worst defensive record in the league, having conceded 46 already, and also have the worst goal difference at -25.

A player of obvious quality like Andre Dozzell will never develop and prosper in an environment like that.

A relegation battle is not the best situation for a young starlet to walk into due to the lack of experience. Given the circumstances, Daily Times have reported that both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are keen on signing the youngster.

He is an extremely good passer of the ball and is good at playing through balls. His long-range passes are impeccable and he has the composure and calmness to make space for himself and spring balls all around the park. He is also an adept dribbler and can also be a decent threat in the box.

Bournemouth started the season really well and even went on a 4-game unbeaten streak in October. But recently, the points have stopped coming because their performance level has completely dropped off.

Since the start of November, they have won just two games and have lost eight. They drew one game during this period, against Watford at home.

Andre Dozzell would be an excellent signing for this talented Bournemouth side as he would add a different dimension to the attack with his sublime long-range passing. His mazy runs from the midfield will also allow the likes of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser to make threatening runs into space.

While Bournemouth have their poor defensive record to worry about as well, Andre Dozzell would be a luxury signing but he has the potential to change Eddie Howe’s fortunes in the fight for Europa League spots – at least from an attacking viewpoint.
