Bournemouth should plot an audacious swoop to sign this promising 23-year-old Championship sensation in the summer – Here’s why the move would work wonders

Bournemouth Opinion: Why Howe should sign Jack Grealish in the summer

Jack Grealish had enjoyed a brilliant last season in the Championship, although couldn’t guide Aston Villa to promotion. But Grealish’s Championship exploits didn’t go unnoticed as Tottenham Hotspur were hugely credited with an interest in the summer transfer window.

In fact, a move to Tottenham failed to materialise last summer and the 23-year-old stayed put at Aston Villa amidst the club’s financial crunch. This season, though, Grealish hasn’t been able to make much of a mark and has contributed with two assists and six goals in all competitions.

He is currently out injured with a shinbone injury as Villa continue to struggle in the Championship.

Even though Grealish hasn’t been at his sublime best this season, his quality remains unharmed and he has the attributes to play in the Premier League. That said, Bournemouth should make a move for the Aston Villa playmaker in the summer.

Jack Grealish

Bournemouth started the 2018/19 campaign very well but have lost their way slightly since December. They currently occupy the 11th spot in the table, just four points shy off eighth-placed Watford.

Qualifying for Europe next season looks a bit tough now given the form Wolves and Watford are in, but Eddie Howe’s troops should continue fighting till the last game of the season.

Howe has been credited for promoting youth and building this Bournemouth team around them. Just like Nathan Ake, David Brooks, Ryan Fraser and Lewis Cook have shone under Howe, Grealish would also benefit massively if an opportunity arrives to move to the Vitality Stadium.

In Grealish, Howe would get a player with an uncanny level of agility, movement and close control. He is very intelligent in the way he gets into promising areas of the pitch and makes a pest for the opposition defenders.

The 23-year-old is a player who can win free-kicks in dangerous positions and can pick out a decisive pass in the final third. Grealish has the ability to glide past any opponents and score important goals for his team.

owever, he is yet to determine his worth at the highest level so the jury is still out on whether he will be able to cut the mustard in the Premier League.

Conclusion

The talented Grealish will add more goals and creativity to the Bournemouth midfield and could be a smart addition for Howe. Under the guidance of Howe who is terrific at nurturing young talents, the 23-year-old could become an important player for both club and country.

Hence, Howe should waste no time and go all out to land him this summer.
