Bournemouth shouldn’t think twice about landing this promising Chelsea starlet in the summer – opinion

Bournemouth opinion: Cherries must go for Mason Mount

According to the Sun, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is keen to make a move for Chelsea loanee Mason Mount. The Cherries have had an up and down season in the Premier League so far as they currently sit 12th in the league, two points off of 11th-placed Everton.

David Brooks has done extremely well for Bournemouth since his summer move from Sheffield United.

The 21-year-old has scored 6 goals and has provided 4 assists in debut campaign in the Premier League but despite his brilliance, Bournemouth need another attacking midfielder to help their side out and Mason Mount will be a fantastic fit.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Derby County and has been very impressive since the start of the season, having scored 6 goals and 2 assists in all competitions.

Mount’s versatility of playing both as a number 10 and as a number 8 gives his manager a wide range of options and his efficiency in both roles is a brilliant asset to have for any team.

Mount is often seen carrying the ball from deeper areas of the pitch to the final third. The Chelsea man has a brilliant range of passes in his locker like his current boss Frank Lampard did at his age.

However, Mount’s biggest asset in his game is his dribbling. The 20-year-old has the ability to take on a number of opposition players with his charging runs at goal but also has the presence of mind to hold his runs if he sees a teammate in a better position.

Another one of Mount’s highly rated traits is that he is ambidextrous. The 20-year-old has proven his comfort on both feet during his time at the Pride Park.

Mount averages 2.1 key passes per game, 2.1 shots at goal per game, 1.2 crosses and 1.7 long balls per 90 minutes so far this season.

Conclusion

The next big step for Mason Mount in his young career is game time in the Premier League.

The youngster has a chance to feature at Chelsea, thanks to their transfer ban but the Blues have the likes of Ross Barkley, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek so a move away from Stamford Bridge would help Mount.

Eddie Howe must sign Mason Mount in the summer and take him under his wing and help him fulfil his immense potential.
