Bournemouth tying down this 25-year-old attacking wizard to a new contract is the need of the hour

Bournemouth Opinion – The Cherries should offer new contract to Ryan Fraser soon

According to a report in Times, Premier League giants Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, and could make a move in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been impressive this season, resulting in many clubs keeping an eye on him to make a swoop in the near-future. (h/t Times)

As for the Gunners, the failure of Denis Suarez, since he arrived from Barcelona, has led to them looking for options to improve the quality in wide attacking areas. (h/t Times)

Currently, Fraser’s contract expires at the end of next season. He initially arrived at the South Coast back in 2013 for an undisclosed fee and signed one contract extension in 2017.

Here’s why Bournemouth should offer him a new contract to avert the interests from other clubs, namely Arsenal:

Fraser is a key component of this Bournemouth side

Ryan Fraser is such an important player in this Bournemouth team that allowing him to leave would make it tough for them.

It is partly because the Scotsman fits into Eddie Howe’s system perfectly in whichever position he plays. Hence, finding a like-for-like replacement of such quality won’t be easy, especially for a club of the size of Bournemouth, who do not have the backing of oil money or anything of that sort.

Fraser burst onto the scene at the Vitality back in the 2016/17 and we still remember his match-turning performance against Liverpool. This year though, he has taken his game to another level.

A return of six goals and 10 assists in 32 league appearances is more than a decent return for the winger. His pace, direct running with the ball, more refinement in the quality of the final ball is dangerous to any defence in the division.

Conclusion

Therefore, Bournemouth must offer a lucrative new deal to the 25-year-old, or find him leave the club this summer itself.
