Ex-United defender Jaap Stam has revealed that his club Reading wants to sign Tyler Blackett from Manchester United.
According to a report from Daily Star, the former Netherlands defender and legend has told the press that he is convinced by the quality of Tyler Blackett and while the club wants to get him from Manchester United, he is not entirely sure if the deal can take place or not.
Blackett made 12 appearances for Louis Van Gaal on his first season but spent the entire last season on loan at Celtic. However, the young defender managed to play only eight games for the Scottish team. With Reading interested in Blackett, it may be a good opportunity for the player but the report did not mention if Stam wanted him on loan or as a permanent signing.
Jose Mourinho has named his first 23 squad and Blackett does not seem to have made the cut.
