Arsenal’s transfer window is not yet over. A 19-year-old Nigerian wonder kid Semi Ajayi revealed (in tweeter) that he has joined Arsenal on a free transfer deal.
Semi Ajayi who had spent his last 10 years at Charlton Athletic has signed a two year contract with the gunners. Former Charlton man confirmed the deal on his twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.
He tweeted,
“Delighted to announce that I have officially signed for Arsenal FC. Can’t wait to see what the next two seasons here have in store for me,”“It was sad to end my ten year spell with Charlton this summer but I can’t speak highly enough of all of the wonderful people I met during my ten years there & I wish all [them] the best for the future as I will always have a soft spot for the club & it’s [sic] fans.”
Ajayi is an unknown name for most of us. He had never played an official league game till now. But he had made three appearances for a non-league side Dartford where he had spent his last season as a loan player.
Ajayi is the second youngster to join from Charlton Athletic in recent times. First one was Carl Jenkinson who is set to have a successful career in red and white colors. Ajayi will hope he can replicate what Jenkinson has done and earn a bright future at Emirates.
