Chelsea have opened contract talks with their Midfielder Super Frankie Lampard over a new contract ! And Lampard who is desperate to sign a new contract is also ready to take a 100k salary cut just to remain at Chelsea! Frank Lampard who was earlier asked to find a new club showed his importance to the club immediately by scoring a brace against Everton and made sure they do not go down to them after conceding a goal early. He also scored the 5th goal was Southampton in the Fa Cup tie.
Frank Lampard has now scored 193 goals for Chelsea, which brings him level in second place with Kerry Dixon also on 193 goals, Frank Lampard needs 10 more goals until he surpassed Bobby Tambling record of 202 as Chelsea Top scorer!
The board is said to be under immense pressure from the various fan clubs of Chelsea to retain their legend. According to the contract policy followed by club owner Roman Abramovich, a player over 30 years of age is not to be offered a new contract. But it looks like Chelsea will have to make an exception in this particular case.
