Edinson Cavani To Arsenal?
According to the Daily star, Arsenal are very close to secure a stunning deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani for a reported fee of £62 million. After arriving from Napoli, Cavani failed to settle in PSG and was regularly been linked with a move away from the French capital. The Uruguayan has been unable to play in his favorite central striker position as manager prefers Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the strike-force and Arsenal have made a bid and taken the lead in the race to sign him.
The 27 year old was also linked with Manchester United as the perfect replacement for Radamel Falcao who is at the moment on loan with them and has not impressed many with his performances. Dutch manager Louis van Gaal feels the need for more additions in the January transfer window and Cavani was expected to be on top of his list. Also though Arsenal desperately need another defensive midfielder and a central defender, the long list of injuries and availability of funds has made the deal possible. Now with Lukas Podolski shipped out on loan to Inter Milan, a move for the frustrated striker does look quite possible. Reports also suggest Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has lost his patience with the misfiring striker and has decided to let the striker leave if he intends to.
