Bristol City’s goal-scoring woes would be gone if they sign this proven 19-goal star this summer

Bristol City opinion: The Robins should make a move for Kieffer Moore

According to the Daily Mail, Bristol City are very interested in making a move for Kieffer Moore. The report further adds that they are not the only ones in the race, with Millwall also keen on a move for the Barnsley striker.

The 26-year-old has done well for himself over the last few years and that’s what Bristol City need. The Robins need a few new stars to help them, with them doing surprisingly well this season.

In the end, despite putting up an incredible fight, Bristol City fell just short of Derby County, with Bristol drawing the final game of the season.

However, in doing so, the club lost so much more than just the final game, as they lost the promotion playoff spot and a chance at the Premier League. It will come back next season but in order to do that, the club has to make a few changes.

One of their biggest issues this past season was the lack of goals. Their top scorer was Famara Diedhiou with 13 goals, with Andreas Weimann coming a close second with 10 goals. Barring that, a few others have made an impact, with Josh Brownhill and Jamie Paterson netting five goals.

Yet, when it comes to the main centre-forwards at the club, few have done well as Mo Eisa, Matty Taylor, and Antonie Semenyo have scored just four goals, with Taylor scoring all four.

Both Eisa and Semenyo made a combined total of 10 appearances, doing nothing between themselves.

It’s why the Robins need a new front-man and Kieffer Moore fits the bill. A target-man by trade, the 26-year-old finished his season with 19 goals and four assists to his name but he could have had so much more.

Very powerful in the air and on the ground as well, Kieffer combines the modern and the present as a centre-forward.

He doesn’t create as much as he really should, but it is something which could change once he moves to the Championship. The 26-year-old has shown the propensity to move into the higher divisions and flourish, which is what Bristol City need to take full advantage of.

Add that to Moore’s sheer consistency in front of goal over the last few years and it makes a valuable man to have.

Conclusion

Bristol City did well in the 2018/19 season but they have the potential to do so much more with time. The club have proven to be rather interesting contenders for the promotion playoff spot but they need the right players to help push them there.

Kieffer Moore is that man and while he will need time to adjust to a higher level, he has shown the work ethic and the desire to do that.
