Bristol Rovers signing this 22-year-old sensation would serve them very well in the future – opinion

Bristol Rovers opinion: Bristol should make a move for Alex Jakubiak

Bristol Rovers will have a very busy summer ahead of them, especially with the club losing a few stars. The likes of Adam Smith, Sam Slocombe, Tom Lockyer, Daniel Leadbitter, Stuart Sinclair and even James Spurce have all left.

It doesn’t make for great reading and it’s why Rovers manager Graham Coughlan has a big job to do. The club has left their transfer business in the past to the final days of the window and that isn’t good business.

It makes everything rushed and thus puts the pressure on the club, as they look to try and move forward in the League One.

But things need to change and by adding players as soon as possible, Coughlan has a better chance of improving his luck. It will allow the new additions to get more time with their new club and surroundings, thus helping them adjust faster.

Not only that, Coughlan will be able to understand just which player can help him and where well before the season starts.

All of that will help the club improve their stature in the League One and maybe even earn a move back up. It’s what any club in the League One aims for and that’s why bringing back Alex Jakubiak on loan makes a lot of sense.

The Watford striker spent the 2018/19 season with the club on loan and impressed whenever he was given a chance. However, with time, the young forward has proven that he can be more than just a bit part player.

It’s why Bristol Live has reported that the club are already in discussion to bring him back and that is arguably a great move for the Pirates.

They need youthful exuberance in their side, especially given the players over 26-year-old at the club. Things need to change and Alex Jakubiak can do just that, as he has managed to do over the last season.

He didn’t get too much time to showcase what he could do but still managed to net five goals and create a further 3 more in all competitions.

That is despite playing just 37% of the minutes available across the season, which showcases just how good he is.  It’s also why the move makes a lot of sense and something that Bristol Rovers have to make.

Conclusion

Alex Jakubiak has a bright future ahead of him and that is something that Bristol Rovers have to take advantage of. The 22-year-old already knows his place at the club and that should help make the transition even easier.
