Brooks and Sharp To Start – Strongest 3-5-1-1 Sheffield United Line-up To Face Bristol City

Predicted Sheffield United Line-up To Face Bristol City In EFL Championship

Sheffield United face a tough test at home at the weekend when a good looking Bristol City side arrive at Bramall Lane in the Championship. The Blades have not won in three games recently, conceding 9 goals in those games too, which I’m sure will make Lee Johnson and Co. lick their collective lips.

It must be remembered though that United also scored 6 goals themselves in those three games and in fact have netted 11 in 5 games. So they remain a huge threat going forward.

Richard Stearman was substituted last time out but may play once again from the start here while several players are risking a one-match suspension for five bookings. Otherwise, Chris Wilder has the usual suspects to choose from and is likely to sick with a 3-5-1-1 formation which will hopefully include the young David Brooks.

Formation: 3-5-1-1

Manager: Chris Wilder

GK – Jamal Blackman

The big man provides a decent last line of defence for the Blades but needs to keep gaining experience.

CB – Cameron Carter-Vickers

The young defender is doing really well this term and looks like a proper top league prospect. He should sit on the right of Stearman and will benefit from his experience.

CB – Richard Stearman

Just back from injury and was replaced last time; he may start again though, as his fitness improves.

Jamal Blackman

CB – Jack O’Connell

Wilder must be tempted to stick with the same back-three despite the goals they have conceded and that should include O’Connell.

RWB – Chris Basham

The wing-backs are an important part of United’s attacking play and so the boss is likely to stick with Basham.

LWB – Enda Stevens

A good recruit and is likely to play once more from the beginning.

RCM – John Lundstram

Improving slowly but surely and can start once again in this attacking midfield line-up.

CM – Mark Duffy

Duffy is one of those players who doesn’t get the appreciation he deserves and, while the Blades concede too many, players like him are the reason they look so good going forward.

David Brooks

LCM – John Fleck

Eventually living up somewhat to the reputation he came with when entering the Rangers team all those years ago.

SS – David Brooks

The young man hasn’t started too many games but may be allowed another starting position here as he gives the Blades something very different. A big future is ahead of him.

ST – Billy Sharp

Leon Clarke has been in good form but Wilder will shake it up at some point and may bring in Billy Sharp this time.
