Bruce to make 1 change – Predicted 4-1-4-1 Aston Villa line-up to face Cardiff City

Predicted Aston Villa Line-up To Face Cardiff City In The EFL Championship

This is a massive game for the top-four in the Championship, with Aston Villa looking to secure their playoff position and give themselves a chance of Premier League football next season.

Aston Villa find themselves in a worrying position, having lost 3 of their last 6 games. So this is a big game for both the teams and a result for either of them could really propel them all for the final phase of the season.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Manager: Steve Bruce

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Sam Johnstone (GK)

The 25-year-old has had a decent season for Aston Villa. Will be looking to get as many clean sheets as possible before the season ends.

Neil Taylor (LB)

The 29-year-old had a dreadful game against Norwich, making no tackles during the course of the game. Will be looking to do better down the left-hand side against Cardiff.

John Terry

John Terry (CB)

Terry will be obsessed with making it back to the Premier League and his performances this season have been very solid. Will hopefully get Villa over the line.

James Chester (CB)

Has formed an excellent partnership with Terry and has been one of Villa’s best players this season. Will be looking to finish strongly and gain promotion to the Premier League.

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

The Egyptian has been consistently strong at right-back. Looks good defensively and also brings an attacking flair down the right. Always willing to run at the opposition.

Ahmed Elmohamady

Birkir Bjarnason (CDM)

Has put in some excellent performances for Aston Villa, sitting just in front of the backline. Made some good tackles and looked lively against Norwich, even though they lost 3-0. An important player for Villa.

Conor Hourihane (CM)

Hourihane will be looking to do better against Cardiff after having a pretty bad game against Norwich. He missed a couple of good chances but must do better this time.

Jack Grealish (CM)

The 22-year-old English creative midfielder is the only player to have come out of the game against Norwich with any credit, getting a good goal and doing his best for his team. He is in great form at the moment.

Jack Grealish

Robert Snodgrass (AMR)

Snodgrass is a very clever player and he has been massively influential in the Aston Villa team this year. He has picked up 14 assists over the course of the season and can change the game for Villa.

Albert Adomah (AML)

Adomah has not been in great form recently and his performances have dipped slightly. He still has 14 goals and 5 assists to his name but will be hoping to kick on and get a few more before the season ends.

Lewis Grabban (ST)

Scott Hogan disappointed in the game against Norwich and never really got going. This could see a return of Lewis Grabban up front, who has done well since moving to Villa.
