Bruce to make 1 change – Predicted 4-1-4-1 Aston Villa line-up to face Ipswich Town

Predicted Aston Villa Line-up To Face Ipswich Town In The EFL Championship

Aston Villa are back in form at just the right time of the season, with two consecutive 1-0 victories to take themselves back to 4th in the table and pretty much have playoff football guaranteed.

Ipswich, in contrast, are 12th in the table with very little to play for, which should really make this an easy victory for Villa. However, no game is ever easy in the Championship.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Manager: Steve Bruce

Formation: 414-1

Sam Johnstone (GK)

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has looked solid at the back all season for Aston Villa and it is a relief to have a calm presence at the back.

Neil Taylor (LB)

Taylor has come back from his injury at a good time and has gone straight back to his best in that left-back position for Villa. Always willing to get forward but is also strong defensively.

Mile Jedinak (CB)

Bruce has gone with Jedinak in the centre-back position for the last couple of games due to injuries and it has really paid off. He has been a giant at the back.

Mile Jedinak

James Chester (CB)

Chester has also been excellent in the previous two games, forming an excellent ad-hoc relationship with Jedinak. Bruce will be hoping that this blossoming partnership continues.

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

Elmohamady has been in good form at right-back, rounding off a great back four for Villa at the moment.

Glenn Whelan (CM)

Deputising in a central defensive midfield role, his form has been a blessing. He has captained the team excellently, tackled well and has broken up play at every opportunity.

Albert Adomah (LM)

Adomah’s form has dropped recently and Bruce will be hoping that he gets back to his best for the last few games. When he is on form, he is unplayable.

Jack Grealish

Josh Onomah (CAM)

The young central midfielder had a brilliant game against Leeds and is staking a real claim to make that central midfield position his own.

Jack Grealish (CAM)

Has been the best player for Aston Villa all season and he looked a class above against Leeds the other night. A danger for the opposition defence at all times.

Robert Snodgrass (RM)

Even when he has an off-game, he still looks better than most players on the pitch. He was a great buy for Villa and has been one of the players who has really got them over the line this season.

Lewis Grabban (ST)

Bruce seems to rotate Grabban and Hogan inconsistently but with Grabban getting a good goal in the previous game when he went up front, it would be a surprise not to see him start up there against Ipswich.
