Bye bye Wan-Bissaka? – 3 ideal replacements who Crystal Palace can consider including Liverpool outcast

Three ideal replacements for Aaron Wan-Bissaka who Crystal Palace can target

According to the Mirror, Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been attracting interest from Manchester City over the last few days. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Eagles this season and has been one of their top performers at the back.

He is yet to play for England’s senior side but there’s every chance he will do so in no time. Should Wan-Bissaka decide to make a move away, Palace manager Roy Hodgson has to look at alternatives.

The Eagles are sitting right above the relegation zone and are on the back of a couple of losses as well. Here we take a look at three right-backs Roy Hodgson can consider if Wan-Bissaka is lured away.

Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool)

The Liverpool right-back has barely featured since the emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold last season. He was once an assured starter in the Reds backline but a few injuries and inconsistency have seen him fall down the pecking order.

Clyne came through the ranks of Crystal Palace’s academy before making his senior debut for the Eagles. Though he may not be a standout name in the market at the moment, the 27-year-old is defensively reliable. He may not be able to offer much going forward but Clyne is a hard man to beat at the back.

Davide Zappacosta (Chelsea)

After making the move to Chelsea last season, the Italian is yet to land a regular role in the squad. He has made just 23 appearances since arriving, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist.

Davide Zappacosta

The Italian is a lively full-back and loves to get forward and support the attackers. He possesses impressive pace as well.

Zappacosta has always looked bright whenever given the chance but the high standard maintained by Cesar Azpilicueta has not given him enough time to prove himself. Hodgson should certainly consider bringing in the 26-year-old Italian full-back.

Jonjoe Kenny (Everton)

The youngster has made 4 Premier League appearances this season, picking up 1 assist. But an injury to him and the return of Seamus Coleman has seen his game time take a hit. The 21-year-old is definitely talented and loves to maraud forward.

Though his defence needs a little bit more work, Kenny is still an exciting prospect. Roy Hodgson should definitely consider a move for the youngster. Everton may be unwilling to part ways given Coleman has also failed to maintain his fitness but Hodgson can go for a loan move rather than a permanent one.

A loan move would give Kenny the exposure he needs while also providing Palace with an additional option at right-back for the season.
