Carvalhal to make 5 changes – Predicted 5-4-1 Swansea City lineup to face Brighton

Predicted Swansea City Lineup To Face Brighton and Hove Albion

Swansea City will look to continue their resurgence in the Premier League when they take on battlers Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday at the AmEx stadium.

Under the guidance of new manager Carlos Carvalhal, the Swans have managed to make it out of the drop zone and currently sit 16th in the table, albeit just a point above the 18th placed Southampton. And the manager will be hoping to pull further away by claiming all three points against the Seagulls this weekend and in the process, extend their unbeaten run to 11 games across all competitions.

Team News

The Swans will be boosted by the return of seasoned midfielder Leon Britton, while defender Alfie Mawson too has been declared fit to return to training. But both the players are unlikely to be thrust into action straight away. Defender Angel Rangel and on-loan midfielder Renato Sanches are both set to miss out, while the duo of Leroy Fer and Wilfried Bony has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Probable Swansea City XI

Manager: Carlos Carvalhal

Formation: 5-4-1

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

The Polish stopper has been one of the heroes for Swansea this season. A definite starter in goal for the trip to Brighton.

Kyle Naughton (RB)

The former Tottenham Hotspur man is once again set to feature from the start for the Swans, at right-back.

Kyle Bartley (CB)

The English defender should be one of the three central defenders to start against Brighton at the Amex stadium.

Lukasz Fabianski

Federico Fernandez (CB)

The Argentine defender did not feature against Sheffield Wednesday in the Swans’ previous game but should return to the starting line-up on Saturday.

Mike van der Hoorn (CB)

Despite the news of Alfie Mawson’s return to full fitness, it is unlikely that Carvalhal will risk playing him straight away and should instead choose to continue with Mike van der Hoorn.

Martin Olsson (LB)

Completing the back line for the Swans should be Swedish defender Martin Olsson. His runs from the left-back position will be key for his side.

Nathan Dyer (RM)

On the right-hand side of the midfield, it should be 30-year old English winger Nathan Dyer coming in for Luciano Narsingh who started the cup tie last weekend.

Ki Sung-Yeung (CM)

The South Korean has been an important player for the Welsh outfit in recent weeks and is guaranteed to feature from the start on Saturday.

Sam Clucas

Tom Carroll (CM)

Partnering Ki in the middle of the park will be former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll. Will need to provide the drive and creativity going forward.

Sam Clucas (LM)

On the left flank for the Swans’ away game against Brighton, it will be summer signing Sam Clucas. An important cog in the wheel, his performance will be key for Carvalhal’s side.

Jordan Ayew (ST)

Leading the line for Swansea against the Seagulls should be Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew. He should replace Tammy Abraham who started last time out.
