Predicted Swansea City Lineup To Face Notts County In The FA Cup
Swansea City host Notts County in the replay of the 4th round after they drew 1-1 in the previous fixture last month. The Swans have made a positive, upward start under new boss Carlos Carvalhal and have lifted themselves off the drop zone at the moment, after having beaten Liverpool and Arsenal in back to back games.
The boss has a chance of facing his old club, Sheffield Wednesday if they manage to get through this round. The signs look optimistic as the Swans have won three games in a row at the Liberty Stadium for the first time since the final three home games of last season. They go into this game unbeaten in last seven matches.
Team News
Swansea have faced a body blow as Wilfred Bony and Leroy Fer are out for the rest of the season due to a ruptured ACL and Achilles respectively. Renato Sanches is unavailable due to a hamstring injury. Andre Ayew is cup-tied along with Andy King. Angel Rangel remains an absentee.
Probable Swansea XI
Carvalhal should replace one Swan for another in his right position and could go into this game with a 3-4-3 due to the options available. The wingers will do the talking and the men in the middle would sit back as they have done under their new boss. The squad should be rotated as Premier League survival is their primary objective.
Manager: Carlos Carvalhal
Formation: 3-4-3
GK: Kristoffer Nordfeldt
The Swede impressed against the same opposition by keeping shots out and rescuing his side whenever required. His distribution is very good too.
RCB: Mike Van Der Hoorn
Van Der Hoorn will get his opportunity and play on the right-hand side of the back three. He gels well with fellow centre-backs and is a decent tackler.
CB: Kyle Bartley
Another one who deserves an outing. He was robust, formidable and alert in his previous appearance. Bartley will play at the heart of the defence.
LCB: Alfie Mawson
Mawson is always aware, switched on, powerful and is an aerial threat in either box. He should start as a part of the back-3.
LWB: Tom Carroll
A different role some may say but he provides the goods with decent positioning and tackling.
CM: Sam Clucas
The goalscorer against Leicester City will get another chance in midfield. Apart from his work rate, Clucas makes clever runs into the box.
CM: Sung-yueng Ki
He broke the record of most PL appearances by a player of his nationality and is mostly going to feature in midfield again. Ki is an able finisher and has a good footballing brain.
RWB: Connor Roberts
Reads the game well and wins duels, Roberts should play at right wing-back.
LW: Luciano Narsingh
Scored last time out against them and should appear again. Narsingh is innovative and is a good dribbler.
RW: Wayne Routledge
A rare start for him but Routledge has still got it. He is a fine crosser and is an experienced candidate.
ST: Jordan Ayew
Ayew should spearhead the attack, coming into this game and he’s in good touch.
