Cazorla’s Value Increases, Fellaini A Big Blow – Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 17 Review

Gameweek 17 has been a mixed week in context of Fantasy Premier League as the results have been mixed over the weekend. While Arsenal and Manchester United have won their respective matches and their main players have clicked, Liverpool has suffered a humiliating defeat to Aston Villa, all their top players unable to make a mark. Manchester City has also registered a win against Newcastle, with their forward man Aguero and Yaya Toure shining for them. Fulham are still yet to recover from their down-slide, this time losing to QPR, who in turn has earned 3 points for the first time in the season. The most important points of this week are as follows.

Cazorla looks a must-have

Cazorla a must have with easy fixtures coming his way

Santi Cazorla has notched up most points out of a single game so far this week with a whopping 23 points. This has been made possible by his tally of 3 goals and one assist against Reading. This has made Cazorla the player with the second best score among midfielders just beneath Michu. One of the most consistent performers, this little big man of Arsenal needed something like this to mark his entry into the big league and with these 23 points, he is sure to feature in a lot more numbers of teams. Already he has been transferred in 32,059 times this week and this would surely increase his value which now stands at £9.6m.

Fellaini suspension a big blow- Fellaini has been suspended till 2nd of January for his behaviour on the field in Everton’s encounter of Stoke. This is bound to affect the prospects of the managers, whose team relied heavily on him and they must now decide their next course of action. They can either replace him with someone else for the next few matches and then once again include him when his suspension is lifted or may continue to keep him in their team. With the first option they have to waste two of their transfers on him and run the risk of purchasing him for an inflated price later.

Bebatov again fires a blank- For the sixth consecutive week Berbatov fires a blank and finally now it is time to take a look at his position in the teams of the Fantasy Premier League managers. Fulham’s form, or the lack of it, is really hurting the Fantasy Premier League managers. Berbatov is and will always be a class player but it is his team who are letting him down. Although they do not fall in the same price bracket, but Aguero now seems to be a reliable player and with City out of the Champion’s League, he looks set to feature in most of City’s matches. Thus dropping Berbatov and picking up Aguero may not be such a bad move now and would certainly valuable bring in points for the Fantasy Premier League managers.

Both Van Persie and Rooney fires- In United’s victory over Sunderland, both Rooney and Van Persie find the net and again prove how much of a lethal combination they are upfront. Van Persie picks up 12 points with one goal and an assist while Rooney gets 7 points. So, the Fantasy Premier League managers must go in for one of them without any preferences as both the strikers are having their share of time to play in the centre forward position and both seem likely to score. We would have suggested both of them had their prices not been so high and the risk of a bad gameweek had prevailed. With a moderately easy fixture both of them should now be the hot properties of the Fantasy Premier League.
