Cech Or Sanchez Or Others? Who Would Be The Main Man For Arsenal This Season?

A new season, new hopes and expectations for all fans, every single fan in the world cannot wait for the football season to start. The one time in the season where everyone is on the same number of points and anyone can top the table. Speaking of topping the tables, Arsenal are going to be one of the favourites for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners did really well to retain their FA Cup last season and had a great run towards the end of the season. Injuries might have played a part in Arsenal not finishing higher, but they have taken care of a few problems this season, well one problem that is their goalkeeping position with the signing of Petr Cech.

We look at just which player could be the one who makes a difference for the Gunners and leads them to glory, something that Arsenal fans have wanted for a long time, the Premier League title.

While most fans would name Alexis Sanchez as the guy to bank upon, the Chilean did have a brilliant first season for the Gunners and even won the Copa America. The Chilean should be doing better this season for Arsenal, after the amazing first season that he had, but he wouldn’t be the main person for Arsenal this season.

One player who could pick up that mantle would be Jack Wilshere, the English midfielder missed a lot of last season but has found himself playing in a deeper role for England and that could be the key to Arsenal’s glory. However, he must stay fit for the majority of the season, another player who could be the star is Theo Walcott.

Another player to fall ill of the Arsenal injury curse, Walcott also made his return to the first team at the end of last season and slowly got back to playing well. Walcott has a lot of pace and great finishing all over again and he would be a major cog in Arsenal’s machine. But the real player to keep an eye out for is Petr Cech.

Yes, you may be thinking, how can a goalkeeper be so important to a club with so many options in attack? Well there lies your answer as well, Cech is one of the best goalkeepers in the country and him coming to Arsenal will shore up the back 5 of the Gunners. He is a leader on the pitch and off it, having him in the team would certainly calm some nerves at the back and should help Arsenal get a few more points this season.

Cech still has a few years left in him and his ability to deal with crosses and distribution could be key to Arsenal playing with gusto and panache. The club have done extremely well in getting the former Chelsea goalkeeper and that could be the greatest piece of business that Arsene Wenger has concluded in the last few years.
