Celtic FC News: Vakoun Issouf Bayo ruled out of the season with ruptured hamstring

The Ivorian striker has barely played for the Hoops since his arrival from Dunesjka Streda on January this year.

The 22-year-old caught the interest of the Celts, owing to his stupendous form, scoring 18 goals with the Slovak club.

He has also earned two international caps, making his debut last year.

However, he couldn’t get the start he wanted in Glasgow and now his injury has further hindered his development.

And the report states that Bayo will be out till mid-June and will only be ready for the pre-season games.

With the expected departure of Oliver Burke to West Bromwich Albion and Timothy Weah to PSG, Bayo still has a chance to impress the interim manager Neil Lennon.

The Celts are now on the brink of becoming champions for the 8th time in a row. Lennon has led his side to five wins, ever since taking the helm midway through the season.

The former Hibs manager ended up victorious in the Old Firm derby last month, which solidified his position to become the full-time manager.
